okay so a lot of you have noticed that A CERTAIN UPDATE gives the Brandish line's burst charge to a handful of starter weapons.
Which of course was announced under the stated goal of making weapons more different. Which is silly.
So I would like to make a few suggestions to fix this fix. This may involve the design of new charge attacks.
-> Shovel and pickaxe weapons should both get really, REALLY minor versions of the "rocks/dirt-erupting-out-of-ground" deal- or just a Jelly Cube Stalagmite popping out of the ground in front of you
-> Give the "Edge" swords a projectile instead of the burst (a lightning bolt and a flamethrower for Shocking and Searing Edges respectively)
-> The Proto sword's "burst charge" manifests as one of those ghostly Cutter after-images except it does about the same amount of damage as the burst charge
And I would also like to make some suggestions for charge charge attacks for either new or current weaponry:
-> A genie/ghost thing appears above/behind you and slams his fist down on the ground in front of you- good for a hammer/Troika I guess.
-> More of the Sealed Sword rune/glyph charge attack.
-> You know how Thwackers can boomerang their hammers at you? Let us do that too.
-> A ghostly/holographic version of yourself appears and continues to weakly attack/distract the foe allowing you a getaway. As a caveat your charge attack is disabled for a few milliseconds so you can't summon another shadow clone while the last shadow clone is still busy.
-> Turn the Winmillion bullets into spinning Winmillions- or make them gusts of wind and make them knockback enemies instead of triggering their dodging instinct
-> Chain lightning.
This may be implemented in the future; they may have just put in the ground work and side-lined it to work on bigger things. Some cool ideas though.
