What is up with the Spiral Knights servers?
I mean a reboot EVERY DAY!

Pretty sure that there are many companies providing a better service, where you don't need to reboot everyday!
Does the server run on batteries? They have to turn off and change battery every 24h.

Or just it just run out of someones house?! Like those old Helbreath private servers.

*yo guys, I just installed a new program on my pc, gotta reboot. server will be back in a few min*

Does anyone agree with me ? Or am I being too harsh?

Play at a different time? I admit, there isn't much to be done with update reboots, but those don't happen too often compared to the daily maintenance reboots.

From my understanding, those daily reboots help the game out.

^Post #1 on that thread gives out some ideas as to why there's a daily reboot for the servers.

And since they're usually around the same time, it's not too much of a bother to avoid playing the game at the particular time span. Not to mention the game warns you ahead of time, before it kicks you out for the reboot, so it's not like you were not told in advance.

I totally agree with you Ninjamosquito. It is laziness due to a weekly reboot requiring more work then just doing a daily. I work for a huge gaming company and weekly maintenance is way more work and requires many more people on hand to work smooth. With the daily, requires just a hand-full of people due to smaller file base. That garage idea definitely sounds believable. Even though their game is very limited and small in file sizes, at least they run a solid server.

Also, not everyone has the luxury of being young and irresponsible enough, to where they can play at any given time they want, without some sacrifice. I personally would prefer to wait 3-6 hours on one day for a weekly maintenance/update system rather than a daily. Just seems to make you race against the clock more often than not. Sounds like you might have that same situation. Sadly sometimes the clock wins! lol

Let me ask you a question Ninjamosquito.

Would you rather have a daily reboot everyday that lasts for less than 5 minutes per reboot or play with a bunch of botters who robo-play non-stop, massing inhumanly amounts of crs, mats and take over PvP 24/7 who will completely upset/destroy the game's economy?
