Just to let you know:
- Graphics: 64mb Video Memory. GeForce 4 series, ATI Radeon 8500. Latest video driver.
The bottom-of-the-4 series, the MX 420, does not give good performance :-).
(Checking to see if NVidia has a newer driver than Microsoft...)

Woot!
Newest driver, turning everything to performance, yeilds what looks to be great performance. Haven, and the party assembly floor, both seem to work fine even on high detail.
(Now, if only the mac's 9550 driver was that flexible :-)
EDIT:
Oh wow! With the new (2006) driver from NVidia, turned to performance over graphic quality, that 420 was able to display on high quality, with no laggyness. It makes a HUGE difference -- levels that would previously have been my waiting with shields on until I could take a single attack and then re-shield, turned into my being able to make sword combo strikes, actually aim a gun at a moving enemy, or otherwise be on the offensive instead of the defensive.
If anything, since the 9300 and 9550 mobility in my Macs are supposed to be better than this, I'm now jealous :-).
But yea, the minimum specs for the windows system work just fine. If the 420 really is only about a GeForce-3 quality, then it can probably go lower.
(and watching the background of Aurora isles while walking through them ... the moon and sun, the holes in the sky, yea, I know, I've seen it all, but it's actually something to have it going while you're walking around, instead of just stopping in an idle corner to look for a moment.)
Umm... the MX 420 is not the same as the GeForce 4 series despite being in the same series. The MX 4xx are actually revamped Geforce 2 series cards with some marketing attached. It's feature set is quite reduced when compared to the Ti range.
Perhaps it should be noted that a GeForce 4 Ti is the minimum owing to the large performance rift in this series when uesd for 3d gaming. Yes, GPU manufacturers to get regularly criticized for naming shenanigans like this. (Like how an ATI 5870 is actually a bit faster than a 6870 =.=)
On the other hand, way to still be rocking the AGP slot dood!
