I have a confession to make: I LOOOOOVE Catalyzers. I fell in love the moment I first popped a charge on a group of jellies. I made it into a Biohazard, then started another to make into a Neutralizer for running FSC. That Neutralizer has become, by far, my favorite soloing weapon down there.

But I'm not content to keep this love to myself. I want to share it with like-minded Neutralizer users who, like me, feel that little happy chill whenever they blow up a room full of zombies with that well-placed shot. In fact, I want to share it with at least three others.

So if you have a Neutralizer, I want YOU to join me on a romp through FSC, which I am organizing here. You will be using primarily your Neutralizer, of course. Other weapons will of course be accepted to counter non-zombie threats, but please remember that the primary goal of this mission is to see how epic the combined might of four Neutras is against the denizens of the burning dark. Expect a lot of close teamwork and epic kaboom moments.

So who's down for this?!?

I've got a Neutralizer,

I've got a Neutralizer, though I am not going to be able to go on the run because of my schedule BUT

I have a question - did you try it in FSC yet?

I used it on the mask phase in Vana and I can tell you that it bugs it and the mask instantly quits being vulnerable. when charge is used on the mask.

But I have no idea what type of testing you have done on the zombies, by how slow they are now + their usual predictable patterns, I would guess that neutralizer works well on them

Just never tried it.

Also this would work very well with a shivermist buster, if someone spammed a freeze bomb after grouping (by shield bumping maybe) say 5 of them, then charge on a ton of bullets to the center guy, explode him, then all 5 of his zombies die

But I bet you could do more than 5, I at times on construct levels would easily group and kill 5 retrodes because of their normal immobile state of spamming their range attack, and that was without really trying / shiver.

So what you should try on your Vana run is

1. How well Neut works in groups of zombies as opposed to an alchemer in terms of AoE
2. If having a full group of people with Neutralizer has some benefit / negative outcome
3. What is the max number of zombies that you managed to once shot at once?

and finally

4. If you can explode someone else's orbs? I never really thought of this because I have never really met someone else with a Neutralizer @_@

And Neutralizer is still ma favorite gun evar I am glad there is being more that are getting it for testing

Nothing is better than having very high gun damage + and watching your gigantic blast one shotting a ton of monsters.

From previous experience with this gun before I sold it due to it's lack of use in PvP:
Vanaduke- Best used on phases 1 and 3. Phase 5 is a nightmare.
If you get it right, you can put 5 charges on a zombie in the rocket puppy room and detonate to go clockwise and keep the rocket puppy asleep.
Works poorly on trojans
Charge shots DO NOT break freeze
And lastly, yes you can detonate someone else's gun. (Ex: toxic catalyzer can detonate neutralizer charges)

Oh, I forgot to add, if you put 1 charge on the rocket puppy in a party of three and time the detonation right, you can cancel the rocket puppy from firing. It takes 2 charge shot detonations to cancel the rocket puppy attack in a party of four.

Is this going to be put on YouTube by any chance? I am very interested in seeing a FSC neutralizer run.

Glad to see the big response!

I said in my original post that it's my favorite soloing weapon for FSC, so naturally I have extensive experience with it :D

• The charge has never made the mask invulnerable for me, but the timing is such that you'll probably barely be able to land a charge and blow it before the mask resets. It's the best way I've found to deal a lot of damage to the mask, slightly more effective for me than Valiance.

• Used properly against zombies, the Neutra actually combines the damage of an alchemer with the push utility of a pulsar. I can sit in one quadrant for a long time without being touched.

• You can blow other peoples' shots, and having more than one catalyzer gunner is AMAZING. I run RJP with a guildie all the time; I set the charges with my Biohazard, and she blows them with regular shots from a lower-level one. With my CTR, it's about the speed of singel-shoot-pause sequence of a pulsar, and that's with just two :D

• The most zombos I have ever exploded at once is seven, but in a graveyard, not FSC. My FSC record is four or five, I don't recall.
