Ban Policies?

Curious as to what the protocols are for banning players that are doing things like harassing people, bugging them for credit card information, etc.
Not gonna drop any names, but I spent a good hour or so yesterday (or the day before, possibly, I was up rather late) running a guy in circles because he was trying to convince me to give out my payment info.

I went through the motions of filing a complaint, contacting GMs, etc, and I'm pretty sure they took some action, because he did actually get kicked offline and then consequently whined at me for filing said complaints, which I can only assume to mean that he received some kind of notification saying he'd been accused of x or y, or something to that degree. First thing I see when I log in is the same guy trying to sell off items that he definitely did not earn legitimately in zone chat. I guess the possibility exists that he paid for the Crystal Energy or crowns to get those items, but considering the hour I spent trolling him around as he tried to wheedle me for payment info, I find this possibility to be extremely sketchy.

Confused. Is there some kind of three-strike policy or something like that which I was never made aware of? General info, comments, blabla, it's a forum, you know how to type words and stuff.

I feel many people get slaps

I feel many people get slaps on the wrist including me
Examples:
I was making fun of a religion as a joke and was told not to
Someone being blatantly sexist and using foul language towards me was on the next day when I had photo proof and reported
I was threatening to kill someone and asked where they lived to murder their family(I raged)
Just got warning not to do it again
I don't know the protocols but they arn't very harsh

Eh, credit card fraud is a criminal offence instead of just someone being a dick or foulmouthed. Major difference. I'm kinda surprised they weren't perm banned. Serious slip-up on OOO part if this is true.

No-Thanks

@Usef
Oh, well, that'd explain it. Not having a super-strict policy has advantages, but it still kind of bugs me to see the person I complained about slide past the banhammer seemingly unscathed.

@Guy
I agree that credit card stuff falls into a separate category when compared side-by-side with things like being obnoxious or obscene. Assuming that this person continues their pattern of behavior, though, I would at least hope that a ban would eventually fall out of the sky as a result and collide with their head at high enough velocity to leave some kind of lasting impression, or perhaps a small crater where they used to be.

Yah, i am kinda new to the forums and my language is a bit foul, indeed (i am not used to post stuff kids can see, so you could put a 16+ restriction on my posts, haha :P). I did not knew about the rules, and i received a warning when i logged in on the game. Pretty scary, and if the gm's see this, i got the message, wont be doing that again :x

I don't know

A few days ago, I posted in someone else's thread about how anyone who denies access to a guild because of lack of UVs is a "[goofball]", and apparently the GMs didn't like me using that word so I got a warning - even though I didn't actually use the term to attack the OP or anyone else.

o.o

From what i got, you must be

From what i got, you must be nice at all. No matters if you dont offend anyone, kids play this game and no one is forced to read foul stuff.

Haters gonna hate

One time I joined a T3 Guild because one of my friends was in it. However, I didn't know that they were filled with elitist jerks back then. I try running vanaduke with them, and they start raging for no reason. I wanted to talk about weapons with them later, but they got mad at me for not agreeing with them. They basically insulted every weapon in the game that's not good against FSC/Vanaduke and I got booted from the guild.

Up to today, that guild still gets mad at me and insults me behind my back. I know this because I have two friends in the guild, who tell me about it all the time. They deserve to get warned or temp banned, and I could have easily made that happen, but I'm not going to harm them, as much as I hate them for being so stupid and elitist. From time to time I get hated on in Trade/Zone chat by T3 Guilds as well. It's funny, really. When people start saying "Ren, are you still mad about T3 Guilds?" I tell them "You're the one that brought it up, doesn't that make YOU the mad one?" and their butts explode.

People seriously need to stop getting mad over vidyagaems.

Well...

If Three Rings doesn't add a ban list, I'm not going to believe that the mods exist.

Not saying I'm gonna break the rules, but it would be great to have a ban list on the homepage with two parts: The total list of banned players, and a monthly list of the latest bans. That way, not only can we see how many players have been banned, but the amount of players banned each month.

I don't think a public naming

I don't think a public naming and shaming of banned players is beneficial to anyone, but some actual statistics would be nice. Not just on banned players mind you, but general activity relative to the number of accounts in the game, how many more people are joining the game monthly, how many people are playing it actively, ect. Particuarly time windows when activity spikes during the day, ideally with figures for both individual servers.

As for the topic, there really is no adequate explanation of how the ban/warning system works anywhere. Your best bet is to email support and ask, although really this sort of information should be readily avaliable and it baffles me that it isn't.

I think if they try payment

I think if they try payment fraud they're going to get an instant and permanent ban if they are found out for it.

As an anecdote I know a certain child who stole his mother's credit card to buy about $99 worth of CE. When his mother found out and reported to OOO they banned him permanently and undid all the transactions.
