How many charged shots can 1 enemy have on them?
Catalyzer quick question!
Even on big enemies, if you start putting a LOT of charges on (I typically do this on lichen colonies), they all kinda start running together and it becomes very difficult to count. It's way more than eight though, and the size of the enemy doesn't seem to matter in my experience.
I will, however, say that in a party of two both using catalyzers, our detonation shook the screen so much in the first room of an arena to be able to see the elevator we came in on!
In my experience with a Virulent Catalyzer and no CTR bonuses beyond the Heat lvl 10 CTR med bonus, I can get about 10 charge shots on one target until the bombs start despawning
The charge disappears after about 20 seconds, which translates to about 7 to 8 if you do it alone in Advanced Training Hall.
In real combat you may have other catalyzer users to add charges, but with the lowered chance to hit (other enemies moving into your line of fire) and other teammates killing the enemies, you won't have a lot of them stacked up unless you can get the whole team to work together.
Guns have different charge times, so the amount of charge shots it is possible to get on an enemy using one single cat can vary considerably. I seem to remember that the maximum I managed to get with an unheated cat (no CTR whatsoever) was about 8 on one shufflebot. The charges start to wear off, not replace each other, after a short period of time. I'm not sure how long it takes precisely, though.
However, it is possible, with enough people and enough catalyser line guns, to get an infinite number of charged shots on one enemy. Obviously you can't actually do this outside of an Advanced Training Hall due to the fact that you can only have four people in a party, but you are allowed as many charge shots as you like. The limitation is the time it takes for them to wear off, and your gun's CTR.
