I've always wanted to have a place of my very own in the Clockworks. Guild halls are alright 'hangout' places... But plenty of my friends are not in my guild. Town square and such isn't great if you don't want people to butt in on conversations... So where would one go? To your very own home in the Clockworks. But what would be a fair way to obtain a house? Some of my ideas are as follows;
-Players get a house as soon as they reach Haven. (Boring, I know, but new players wouldn't be left out this way)
-Players obtain housing after reaching a certain point in the game. (i.e Tier two)
-Players can purchase a house for a hefty sum of crowns. (I like this idea best personally, but that would make a house a pain in the arse to get...)
A house would be as following;
-Ten to Twenty player slots
-Invite only, unless player chooses otherwise
-Contain an Alchemy Machine
-Have several upgrade levels to be earned or purchased (?)
But of course, one would want to make this house a home, so to speak. What better to do that with than furniture?
-Furniture for purchase from a special vendor in town
-Perhaps special unlockable furniture items for achieving certain things? (i.e A Love Puppy Statuette for finding one, or a Almire Banner after defeating Vanaduke)
-Furniture would be compatible with Guild Halls too; I mean, those halls could use some spicing up.
So what do YOU think? Housing; Yay or nay?
1: Guild Halls, but "But plenty of my friends are not in my guild.", so...
2: Switch servers. Many Havens are basically dead in certain times.
3: Bottom-left Garden in Town Square. Vacant 90% of the time.
In response to your 3 suggestions as how to get a house (Were it implemented),
1) This would be in the spirit of being able to chat with anyone, BUT new players don't have 50 friends. So, no.
2) While you may or may not have friends at this point, I don't really think many people over-socialize even here. Socializing is more what end-game players do, especially due to boredom.
3) Crown sinks are +1. But, my opinion on this is that it'd be wasted content. 2/10 people might own a house.
In all honesty, this idea as a whole gets a -1. Revamp Guild Halls (Allow visiting, and many other things), and this is unnecessary.
