So, how do you guys switch weapons? I use space bar to do that and I don't like it since it is easy to switch to the wrong weapon. I don't like using the mouse wheel either or specially assigned keys. So what do you think is fiercest way to switch weapons?

I use my Left Clicker. My Scroll Wheel works, too, but I feel more Comfortable wit the Clicker instead.

EDIT: I also use my Spacebar for Shielding. Very Convenient.

I thought the best setup

I thought the best setup would surely be;
Left click attack,
Right click block,
Wheel change weapon (as you don't have to cycle through all weapons to get from weapon 2 to weapon 1),
And WSAD directional.
Thats just natural for me but thats (more of less) how I've always set up for gaming.

I use the left click for shield and right for attack. And I don't feel comfortable using scroll wheel so I use space bar which is inconvenient but easier (to me at least) to operate.

I use only the keyboard

I use the arrow keys to move, since I can't handle a mouse too well (and because of a certain bullet hell game I played too much).
So, A/S/D/F = weapons 1/2/3/4

Just wanna throw this out, since not many people play only using the keyboard.

Oh, and Z = attack, X = defend and C = maintain facing direction

WASDer here

Before getting my mouse with extra buttons, I used Space (1-sword), Q (3-gun), E (2-secondary), Left Shift (4-bomb). Now I map weapon 2 and 3 to side buttons on the mouse. I've also heard using space for autoaim works well, so I may try that at some point.

My Playing Style

Z = Attack

X = Shield

Arrow Keys (Left, Right, Up, Down)

Space Bar = Change weapon

Shift = Push to talk on mumble

^Yes my playing style is not used much, but works for me. Do have a gaming pad, but rather play old school =)

Mouse 1 Move

Mouse 2 Attack
I can't seem to map the two side buttons on my G400 or else i would use the forward one to switch weapons and the rear one as shield.

Shield X

Change Next Weapon Space Bar

Change Previous Weapon CTRL key

When I jump on mumble or teamspeak3 I use the Alt key for push to talk.. no mic spamming from me.
I play first person shooters so this set up is kinda my norm usually use the number keys to switch weapons but not in this game and my mouse DPI is set at 1800 all the time.

I should probably mention

I should probably mention that I have a gaming mouse that has buttons on the side which I should probably key to specific weapon slots so I can swap to those when I have a full loadout. Otherwise pretty much what Moonsoon has but I have left click as shield, right click as attack.

There was actually a fair bit

There was actually a fair bit of discussion of this issue on this thread where some folk listed some interesting styles.

S'pretty cool how weapon switching is one of the most important fundamental aspects of the controls of the game yet done in so many different ways by everyone.

I'm...one of those mouse movers. -ducks tomatoes-

I've never used WASD before, and I really suck at it, so I just move with mouse, attack with tab, shield with Q, and have my weapons bound to 1, 2, 3, and 4, and vials on F1, F2, F3, and F4. It's a leftover habit from other MMOs, where I had things like health potions on F1, MP potions on F2, etc. I do use my mouse to attack (right button) and WASD to move when gunning, since there's fewer close range dodges. I use the mouse wheel to change weapons sometimes too, but I usually stick with numbers.

I use a pretty standard

I use a pretty standard gunslinger layout: GHTY to move; left, middle, and right mouse buttons for weapons 1-3, scroll up for weapon 4, scroll down to shoot, space to shield. I tap the number pad enter key with my thumb for "Fall Back!" and the + key for "Attack!"

:3 I use Space Bar, but I wish OOO would make it so we could see all our weapons down there, so I know what I am switching to, then I would change it to Q and E if I had more than two weapons.

Mouse wheel. I'm just too

Mouse wheel. I'm just too used to it, since I mostly used two slots(It's a wee bit trickier with 3 though.)....Although, I didn't know that there was a option to switch your last weapon....I'll have to check that out...

Movement = WASD
Attack/Interact = Left Mouse
Shield = "F" key

So yeah. :)

I haven't moved the specific

I haven't moved the specific weapon buttons to more convenient places. I probably should, since I have three weapons that I use frequently (and a fourth that I don't use nearly as frequently). I took the weapon-switching off my mouse wheel, though, because I don't trust my wheel to not do stupid things. But other than that...

Movement: WASD or left mouse
Attack: right-click or Z
Shield: middle-click or X

I switch between the two setups at a moment's notice, so they're both assigned.

Next weapon: Spacebar
Previous weapon: Left CTRL
