I want some tips on what I can go for as a main 2 star weapon for tier 1 and 2. any suggestions?
What sword should I go for as a main weapon?
A great sword to always have is a Final Flourish/Barb Thorn Blade (from Flourish/Snarble Barb)
BUT.
If I had to have one sword and only one sword to take me from tier 1 to tier 3 I would probably go with a brandish or calibur just because of of versatile they are
Usually you want to have a mix of swords such as:
Divine Avenger
Gran Faust
Final Flourish
EDIT:
I would just get a Calibur for a VERY well rounded 2* weapon
I am going for jelly armor? anything to match that? I want to know if theres any sword jelly related
I would say the Brandish. The Sealed Sword is a bit far away. By the time you are getting the Brandish to its 3* levels, you should not be doing Snarby runs.
You can also find it at the AH for about 1000 crowns
Match as in, aesthetically? Dunno.
But if you mean equipment-wise, nothing has an edge in matching it, as it gives no other bonus. Unlike wolver/gunner/demo suits, which gives bonuses to its respective weapon class
Probably the best starter equipment: Wolver set, Brandish, Snarble Barb (or Flourish), Owlite (or Bristling Buckler), Prisma/Volt/Firo/Cryotech alchemer (or Blaster). It's not very pretty and highly sword oriented, but it is easy to assemble and fairly simple to use. Most gear can be purchased for 1000-2000 crowns each (usually on the lower end of the scale), and the Snarble Barb and Bristling Buckler are both obtained by beating Snarbolax (Frumious Fang token rewards from Brinks). Total cost: ~9000 crowns, or ~5500 crowns plus 20 Frumious Fangs, something you should easily be able to earn with a week's worth of mist energy.
I've actually started recommending Brandish over Calibur, because the 3* upgrade paths can immediately provide you with much-needed elemental sword damage, or to a lesser extent, shadow damage (Nightblade). It might be a little more costly than building just a Calibur, but in the end it pays off. Once you have this basic gear, you can start experimenting to find your preferred style (try using some bombs) before beginning the laborious process of upgrading to 5*.
make sure you read the wiki on damage types - http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Damage
It is important to be able to deal multiple damage types (or normal) or else some monsters will be incredibly tough. For example, I started out with an elemental brandish (fireburst brandish to be exact) and I found beasts very tough because they were resistant to my attacks. Once I picked up a piercing sword I thought they were some of the easiest monsters in the game.
Also, this guide will be useful for learning about the swords - http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Swordmaster_Guide
With that said, If you do a lot of gloaming wildwood runs, you can get the snarble barb with tokens. It is great for those levels and is useful all the way to 5*. I would then recommend an elemental sword (my preference is the brandish line and preferably the fire ones) since it will make enemies strong against piercing (slimes and constructs) much easier.
If you want an elemental sword that knocks the monsters back farther, then you can get a slow swinging Divine Avenger, but it requires beating the jelly king enough times to get a sealed sword.
