So which is a better way to move? I've noticed WASD gives a little more mobility, but I'm not sure how I can get to the z(attack) and x(shield) keys if I use it.
After coming from a game that uses only arrow keys for moving I'm a lot more comfortable with them, however, I'm not sure if they're the best thing to move.
What do you guys think?

PS) if you're an arrow key user, how do you manage to get the mobility of WASD without using it?

neither depending on your

neither depending on your setup, but I prefer wasd.

Map shield to space, and use attack on either the left or right mouse button (mouse to aim so might as well use the buttons). z & x are completely useless since they can't easily be hit while using wasd.

"QERF for weapon slots."

Why does QERF make me laugh so much?

Both

LMB to move, RMB for attacks. ~ for shield. Easiest setup for me, lets me move into the right position to connect multiple enemies. More agility, so to speak.

But when I'm gunning, or shooting off charges, WASD, left shift shield. This is where mouse movement fails with a mouse button for aiming attack. And most people aim attacks with a mouse. Much more accurate aiming.

I normally use WASD to move,

I normally use WASD to move, mouse to aim/attack, and mapped shield to the spacebar coz that's where my thumb is hovering anyway.
