For me personally, it'd be limited to players with 5* gear. Rank advancement would be based on achievements such as soloing certain levels or skillfully leading a party through a Shadow Lair and other stuff like that. And since I'm too lazy to be a Guild Master, there would a be a leader who administers the rank tests, enforces rules and good codes of conduct to safeguard the guild's reputation, and why not, randomly gives away prizes to online members. And since I rock a Heavenly Iron Helm and Radiant Silvermail as my costume, it'd have some cool name like "Paradise Knights" or "Divinity Defenders".

And last of all, let me thank and praise Ashiram for being just a such a player to create and manage such a guild. Thank you, Ashiram, for "Cloud Nine".

The ideal guild

From my perspective, the absolute ultimate guild would be open to all, have a friendly community and ranks would be distributed based on personality and attitude, eager for assistance and knowledge of the game. Veterans would be experienced players who are known within the guild, are social individuals and have a friendly attitude. Officers are respected members of the guild and carry an additional responsibility of helping out the guild by keeping order, enforce the rules of the guild and have a good sense of judgement and help out with guild events and coordination. Officers are elected by collecting votes from the Officers and Guild Masters within the guild. Guild Masters would fill all of these criteria, have an excellent sense of judgement, enforces the rules and guild guidelines and can host guild events and coordinate them. They are the head representatives of the guild and stand out as the very icons of the guild. Guild Masters are hand-picked from the existing Officers by the Guild Masters upon agreement. A promotion can not take place if one Guild Master disagrees with the decision. The guild is active with many players spelunking and organising parties, regularly holds guild-events and tournaments and welcome and support new members with open arms and friendly attitude. A preferable guild name would be outstanding, clever and meaningful and would reflect the nature of the guild itself.

Of course, I could only dream of running such a guild myself, but that is what I see as the ideal guild.

@ Thats how Dominance rolls

@ Thats how Dominance rolls Shidara, we do like to do promotion runs (usually based on arena/boss preformances) up to veteran level, then it's more personality and attitude that advances you from there.

The ideal guild is one where

The ideal guild is one where everyone is friends with one another, none of the members place any value on being respected and elite or other such nonsense, the potential for in-depth discussion on just about anything is there, people enjoy being silly and having fun, there are frequently a lot of people on and doing runs with one another, new members are made to feel welcome, and guild ranks don't really matter.

In a guild like that, it's usually only a matter of time before anyone becomes an excellent player, and nobody really cares if they don't. Because at the root of it all, games are about having fun, and a guild that has fun is a guild that makes the game more enjoyable.

These are excellent comments.

Please keep them coming. It's very interesting to hear about what makes the ideal guild for various players. And I appreciate how well you are expressing yourselves.

I totally agree with you. The guild I'm in doesn't even have officers, the GM's are the two founding members. I love it because basically everyone who is active is an equal, we do runs all the time, guild chat is always interesting and fun, and I just have a great time being with other guild members. The best fun I've had is running stuff with guildies while having interesting discussions during the whole run. I've found an awesome guild, and I love the vibe. No competition, no infighting, just fun, relaxed play.

Ideal guild...

My ideal guild would be open to all, yet ranks based on gear. Recruits would be 0-2*, Members would be 3-4*, and Veterans would be 5* and SL gear. Why? Because it's good to know who you can rely on in a guild at a passing glance. If you base rank off of devotion, inviting a Veteran into FSC can get you a Wolver running around with a Nightblade. He will have great Charisma, but he wouldn't be what you need.

Also, the GM and officers would be talkative and generous. That plays a big role.

Finally, there would be a random alt created by the GM with the Guild Name as the its name. Then, players can send whatever they want to this alt to be raffled off randomly to the rest of the guild (Idea stolen from Heavenly Swagg sorta).

Perfect guild= Cloud

Perfect guild= Cloud Nine
Almost all 5-star players, with just a few exceptional 4-stars. All guild members help each other out with recipes, energy lending, boss runs etc. Promotions are based on performance in certain levels, both individual and team skills are tested. In my opinion, this is the best format for a guild.

Hello all, Thanks Mawashimono

Hello all,

Thanks Mawashimono and Princeberton for your continued support for <Cloud Nine>. While Mawashimono mentioned about the traits of a "perfect guild", <Cloud Nine> is NOT a perfect guild by any means. What we are all about is constant self-improvement; finding new ways to get better at the game and make friends at the same time! What we offer is not for everyone. Some players prefer smaller guilds. Others like less formality. To each their own. I think if you find a guild and you like what they are all about, then it is the "perfect guild" for you.

@Mawashimono

While I appreciate the gesture, I would refrain from posting a topic such as this one and including our guild name there. We like to fly under the radar. I do not want people to get the wrong impression of us.

Ashiram, GM of <Cloud Nine>
