1) depends largely on the depth, the heat of both and the target

2) see 1) In lower depths, you can't even OS Trojans with Blitz without some damage bonus

3) 4) 5) no idea, but they should be the same for both assuming same CTR/ASI

ehm....

Strike needle and blitz needle have the same exact charge time and attack speed, with the exception of damage difference. Damage difference is noticeable, I don't see the reason why you need to compare them as you need to upgrade anyway. I think it's like 87 to 110 damage, I could be wrong. iirc, you could one shot trojan with strike needle when you solo. 2 or more party, you probably need to upgrade it and add elite trueshot module trinkets. ASI helps a lot on reducing animation especially the reload animation. Don't ever use regular attack, the damage is mediocre, always use charge attack. I think Max CTR would get you 1 - 2 second charge time.

Yes you should upgrade. The

Yes you should upgrade. The damage difference is HIGHLY noticeable. Something like 50% more in lower depth.

So here's basically the

So here's basically the comprehensive guide to the Blitz:

Blitz being one of the hardest weapons to use in the game, it also provides some of the best single-target DPS in the game (I think only RSS can deal more). If you don't upgrade it, you're sacrificing a lot of damage and since damage is the only thing it has going for it, you pretty much have to upgrade it for it to be useful.

Regular attack speed of firing both clips is roughly the same as charge attack speed if you ignore the charge time, but the charge attack fires 3 more needles and doubles the damage on every needle (there are 15 needles total), so you want to charge it. However, ASI does significantly affect the rate at which the charge attack fires, as well as the reload, so it's useful even on the charge attacks.

I get the impression that shield charging was invented solely for use with the Blitz, so you'll want to do that. Does okay on wolvers if you shoot at the right time, destroys chromas (but what doesn't?), isn't usually very good against devilites and greavers but has the potential to slaughter them if you can set up the right shots, and does pretty well on zombies (though you usually want to shoot between two or more zombies that are close together so you can kill them both at once).

For Blitz damage, in a party of four you're going to want at least a Medium damage bonus (vs fiends or otherwise) to be able to one shot Trojans in FSC, but you pretty much have to shoot them point blank to hit with every needle. I use VH damage which is quite serviceable, but I still find it a little weak sometimes compared to the Ultra I used to use, often leaving the Trojans just a little bit away from death after a decent shot. Planning on switching to Divine Veil for that reason (and for the fire resist...), but that's picking nits since VH one shots quite nicely.

I don't have a Strike, but here's some Blitz speed numbers:

Standard Blitz Needle (No ASI, Medium CTR): 46 seconds to fire 10 charge attacks (13 charge attacks per minute)
Maximum ASI Blitz (Maximum! ASI, Medium CTR): 41 seconds to fire 10 charge attacks (14.6 charge attacks per minute, or 12.3% more shots than standard)
Maximum CTR Blitz (No ASI, Maximum! CTR): 38 seconds to fire 10 charge attacks (15.8 charge attacks per minute, or 21.5% more shots than standard)
Fastest Needle (Maximum! ASI, Maximum! CTR): 34 seconds to fire 10 charge attacks (17.6 charge attacks per minute, or 35.4% more shots than standard)

A quick test of VH CTR yields 41.5 seconds to fire 10 charge attacks, so Maximum ASI is slightly better than VH CTR offensively, and quite a bit better defensively (you spend less time firing and reloading and more time moving while you charge). If you aren't in ASI-boosting gun gear and you don't have a lot of money to shell out for a good CTR UV, then ASI is a pretty good pick, too.

With +4 attack my Blitz does

With +4 attack my Blitz does around 180 to most neutral targets at D28 with the charge attack. The regular attack does slightly more than half that.

I seem to recall +0 Strike doing only a little over 100 per needle at the same depth, so it's a pretty enormous upgrade.

...though I'm not sure how much of that is from the trinkets.
