Recently, I've been playing T2 Lockdown as a Recon gunner. I usually use a Magnus and Alchemer (Cryo for now, but I'm thinking of switching). My technique is typically: Cloak - Move in - Uncloak - Fire 1 shot - Cloak fast - Move - Repeat.

I've got a Gunslinger hat and I was thinking about getting a sash. My question is, with this technique and these 2 shot guns (I try to avoid reloading), how useful would ASI very high (from gunslinger kit added to recon cloak) be? Would it be a better idea to use a more defensive kit (e.g. Quicksilver)? I should note that I carry an antigua, but it's mostly to break blocks, and I don't carry a pulsar and would rather not.

Admittedly the ASI isn't that big of a boost. Full Gunslinger would help though, but it depends on your current armor. Quicksilver may be nice though for the Shock Resist, which is one of the more annoying statuses in LD.

For alchemers, the two options are Voltech or Shadow. Shadow is more for damage, and Voltech is for the shock.

The Antigua is good for the broad area sweeps it can do to reveal other recons, and to disrupt the enemy movement. If you see two people in a slap fight, shoot at one and that will stop them mid strike. If accurate, you can completely paralyze someone.

In lockdown, its best not to limit yourself and disregard the Pulsar. The Pulsar is one of the easier ways a Gunslinger, especially recon gunslinger, can deal with Strikers or defending a point. It's use comes from its ability to cover a huge area with death. Strikers rely on being able to maneuver in a large enough area, but if you can cover most of their maneuverability area with Pulsar shots, they cannot dodge as easily.

Also, most Gunslingers that I have seen go Striker actually. They excessively kite around the place. Whenever an enemy striker boosts up to then, they boost away and take shots at their pursuer.

LD Gunner

I've been trying out going full gunner as a striker in T2 recently and have actually got decent at it. I use a magnus and a shadowtech mk 2 (I don't like to have to worry about switching between more than 2 in LD and the pulsar line is an abomination) and get the most use out of the shadow. As far as armor/helm goes I've been using either my standard LD sword stuff or a cyclops cap+gunslinger sash getup. It's about as ugly as a loadout can get but you get the gun damage bonus from the cap and asi from the sash.

I haven't decided whether or not the damage bonus is worth the decreased health/protection but since I can afford double 3star heart trinkets I am able to somewhat offset the defensive deficiencies of the cyclops cap. I still haven't decided if it's worth it or if I should go grind Imf (ugh) for some quicksilver stuff because that would be the best non gun-specific armor for a gunner.

As far as results go so far my highest t2 pure guns damage is 3.8k (with 8 caps) and there are few things more satisfying than winning a drawn out 1v1 with a full dusker toothpick striker who was clearly expecting an easy kill. It's also super fun to distract 3-4 enemies at one base for about 20 seconds dodging around before they realize the rest of my team captured all of the other points. The top strikers still destroy me but they do that when I play swords too so I don't get too upset about that.
