The ones who like these awesome musics maybe have noticed the similarity between Slag Walkers and the firey dude from Disturbed's album "Indestructible":

Err... Ok, probably not.
But if you like metal, tell which bands on this thread, and how did you met them :D
And over all, discuss! \m/
I myself like Blind Guardian, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Iron Savior, Hammerfall and Judas Priest.
I approve of this thread! :D
Anyways...
It started with Guitar Hero 3. Now, I'm not much of a fan for the game, but their was one song I really liked: Through the Fire and the Flames by Dragonforce.
It was so different than from other songs I listened to. It much more aggressive and featured epic solos. And the lyrics were amazing and inspiring! So I started to look through more of their songs. I loved them. <3
Afterwards, I mentioned to an online friend of mine about them, and he showed me some more metal songs by other bands, since he was such a big metal head himself. It was some of the best music I heard. And so, I've become more and more of a metal head as time went on. And that's how I got started to listening to metal. Now a days, I might look through some random bands on the related tabs of my favorite songs, in search of more epic bands.
My list of some of my recommended bands and some favorite song(s) from them:
Sonata Arctica - "Wolf and Raven" and "Full Moon"
Conquest - "Destiny"
Dragonland - "Starfall", "Holy War", and "Rusty Nail"(A cover of Japanx's song)
Stratovarius - "Destiny", "Eagleheart"
Luca Turri - "Black Dragon"
Rhapsody(of Fire) - "Emerald Sword"
Iron Maiden - "Aces High", "Number of the Beast", "Transylvania"
Iron Mask - "Morgana's Castle" and "Holy War"
