Changes:
- Reduce the cost of Krogmo Coin cost of the recipes
- Make Krogmo's recipes tradable
- Make Krogmo's recipes appear at Basil

A lot of us just don't like the idea of being forced to play Lockdown just to get a few nice weapons. Believe me when I say this: A lot of us would rather craft every single weapon in the game before we even bother with Krogmo's recipes. Lockdown is laggy, imbalanced, and unenjoyable. We just want some new weapons, that's all. It's not like the Triglav, Stagger Storm, Voltedge and Plague Needle are the best weapons in the game, they're just sidegrades to weapons we already have, we only want these weapons so we can try something new. But it's unfair to force us to go through weeks of Lockdown just to get the recipes, even if you have a coin booster, which only adds 1 extra coin. There's no way I'm going to be forced to play a rage-inducing, masochistic game for sidegrades. SIDEGRADES. Not upgrades, not downgrades, sidegrades. Just alternate paths for weapons I already have. Come on now.

Don't bother saying anything about Blast Network. That game is just as laggy and unenjoyable.

This.^

Playing Lockdown is like torture, but to play it 150+ times? Jeez.

I know what you're talking

I know what you're talking about so let me start with the recipes. The thing here is that I guess they want to force you to play lockdown so that people who spend a lot of money on the game have someone to kick around. They also probably want you to invest in Krogmo boosters and such.

I think the biggest problem though is that the recipes are so worthless. The only really good one is the Voltedge.

I agree with this, I wanted

I agree with this, I wanted to get the voltedge branch recipes for an associate and I nearly hit the roof when I found out they're bound to me. I'll be damned if I'm going to spend 4k ce to create and unbind a voltedge after suffering through lockdown. Which is officially pay to win unless you join a tier 1 match.

What's really unacceptable is the fact the game doesn't tells you that the recipes themselves are bound to you, not when you use them.

I can see the purpose behind bombhead costumes, but recipes? Either make them tradable or for god sake, but up a warning that they're automatically bound.

If the point is to have people use boosters and reward people who play. Either put up new costume items or accessories (Like you get to wear recon, striker or defender gear) or have rare costumes like fiery, frost, curse, etc be put up but at extremely high prices. say 500-600 coins.

"Reduce the cost of Krogmo

"Reduce the cost of Krogmo Coin cost of the recipes" - while 3* and 4* seems bit expensibe (10kcr and 20kcr assuming you lose every game in LD) the 5* recipe cost 30k which is about same price as good 5* recipes (assuming you loose every LD game) dont see problem here

"Make Krogmo's recipes tradable" i would say that they should be made just as weapons/items from brinks - they should come bound not completly untradeable, so in odrer to sell them you have to unbind them.

"Make Krogmo's recipes appear at Basil" dont know what to say

@Diabound

I've got to agree with you there.

While I do believe that the Stagger Storm and Plague Needle are nice weapons, they're not the most amazing things out there. I'd rather stick with my Shivermist Buster, Voltaic Tempest and Firey Pepperbox. Getting the Krogmo recipes are way too much effort for barely a reward. Heck, the only "reward" you get is bragging rights that nobody cares about. "Look at me, I played Lockdown for ages and got this crappy weapon!" It's a shame nobody cares.

Optional content locked behind game mechanism? Never!

Wait, so people are complaining that completely optional content is locked behind a game mechanism that involves spending time? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that ALL of what SK is about: spend time to advance, or pay $$$ to do it faster? OP said it himself- these weapons are sidegrades, alternatives to existing weapons in every sense. Just because you don't want to spend time playing Coliseum games to get Krogmos doesn't mean OOO should bend over backwards to grant your every wish. Actually, you do have the option of skipping the Coliseum- put up 5-6kCE for a Voltedge or whatever it is you want.

That said, I do find it odd that the recipes exist as items- it should just prompt you "Learn this recipe for X Krogmo Coins?" at Sullivan's. This would prevent people from accidentally getting additional recipes as well. I am not averse to making them unbound either, but I don't think that particular mechanism needs to be changed. What is perhaps needed are more Coliseum games.

Having more coliseum games is an excellent idea, maybe even one that doesn't involve PvP for those of us who are annoyed by Lockdown and Blast Network.

Then again I'm not allowed to have opinions or else I get banned.

.

I understand wanting to have recipes that are available from Krogmo but not from Basil; it gives people a unique reason to do PvP, another reason to be excited by different gear, and another reason to trade with each other. So I don't agree with suggestion #3.

I don't understand the reasoning behind having them bound, though--you'd think they'd want to encourage players to trade with each other, and to let people who enjoy PvP do it more and people who don't enjoy PvP buy from the people who do. Making them bound is confusing, inconsistent, and makes them significantly harder to acquire than other recipes (if you like PvP and hate clockworks, you can still get the Basil recipes!)

And the prices of Krogmo recipes are really fairly ridiculous if you look at the time required to earn them:

Finding and playing a game of lockdown takes ~8 minutes (I timed it). Suppose you win half your games. Every 2 games, you get 3 krogmo coins and lose 120 crowns. To get 3* + 4* + 5* recipe costs 300 coins, so this will take you about 26.7 hours and 12k crowns.

By running FSC with tolerably good jumps and vendoring Ancient Plate, I estimate I can make around 4k crowns per hour running on CE and buying it back. To get 3* + 4* + 5* recipes costs 39k at Basil prices; you're unlikely to spend more than 45k even at AH. If I start with 12k crowns (the amount required to play Lockdown above), I can earn all the recipes in about 8.25 hours, less than a third the time it takes to get the Krogmo recipes. I'm sure not everyone grinds as fast (and some are probably faster), but come on, that's a huge difference (and doesn't even include reselling recipes bought at the clockwork terminals).

How about spending secondary resources to advance faster? Every mist energy I spend on clockworks save me a CE, which translates into around 60-65 crowns at current market prices, saving me a little over one minute of grinding on average. Spending 25 mist to bribe Krogmo earns me perhaps 2 coins (probably closer to 1 at a 50% win rate)...which would mean each mist saves me about 0.43 minutes (plus 6.4 crowns!) on average--less than half.

Or say I spend real money. I can spend $2.49 for 750 CE; if I sell it for 6k cr/100 CE, that earns me 45k, saving around 4.5 hours per US dollar (on average). If I spend that same CE on krogmo coin boosters, then to save the same number of hours per dollar, I'd need to play over 50 games (nearly 7 continuous hours) of Lockdown during the day the boosters are active. That's possible certainly, but...awfully intense, especially for someone who has decided to spend real money to save time. (And remember, you'd need to play around triple that to save the same percentage of time per dollar spent...21 hour lockdown marathon!)

Even if you enjoy playing Lockdown as much as running the clockworks, the Krogmo recipes still appear to be overpriced to the point of silliness.

How about

How about those recipes also being possible to get from Supply Depot of the Mission Mode? They said we would be able to get items there as an alternative method to recipes , so why not those too?
