For the record, the Crystal Bomb line acts sort of like that, so while you're waiting you could try them.
It would be nice to have a 'hit all opponents in line of fire' option though, since the Crystal Bomb ones only hit the first they meet. The style your suggesting would probably need to have a very limited range compared to Crystals, but could justifiably have a longer range than regular bombs if they only fire in a cross, as compared to 8 directions.

Any of these bomb ideas would be so cool! Especially the one that goes straight up; it'd be so cool to watch those frickin gremlins go skyward and then set up another bomb for when they get back...
I rather hope that type of weapon isn't literally copyrighted.
