Personally, I've always been interested in theories about things in games. My issue with all the ones I've seen on here is that its about what WILL happen, not what HAS happened.

I wanted to make a thread that included anything you can think of (within reason). Just provide some kind of "proof" that your theory could be true. Then we can discuss it ^_^.

I'll start things off :D

Why/How do you think Cradle was formed, and for what reason? by who? And were did all the land/lifeforms we see get there?

I'll see if this thread gets any attention before I start saying all the ideas I've had :P

PS. If there is no interest in this I guess just let it sink into the pages of General Discussion.

I'll let spill everything I've accumulated.

The Core is a self conscious begin of energy who originally had a standard planetary atmosphere. Standard evolution occurred, giving Cradle it's biodiversity.

Gremlins evolved to be the most technologically advanced of the sentient beings of Cradle, some eventually finding it's way to the Core. The Architect, Tinkinzar, struck a deal with the Core, presumably for knowledge and power, and reconstructed the planet into a mechanized globe, with revolving areas modified to diversify the environment. However, unbeknownst to the Core, Tinkinzar was slowly sealing it within it's own planet. By the time it realized, it was too late. The Core was sealed.

With all power, there comes corruption. The Core's corruption started off small, but it slowly gained power as it spread, consuming all that fell within reach. Vanaduke fell prey to the corruption, twisting him into the form we see him as now after he despaired over the ,loss of Almire.

Unable to stop it in it's confined state, the Core could do nothing as the corruption grew, becoming the Swarm, shrouding the Core in darkness as it continued to spread.

The Santurary formed. A window, a dream. The sparse light that is always found in absolute darkness, it cannot be touched by the Swarm's corruption, but it cannot expand further than where it is. It calls out for other beings to help drive back the darkness, speaking with the Core's voice.

The Knights were pulled in by an unknown force. Actually, it was the Core of the planet. Seeking help, and seeing thee knights as an opportunity, it reached out and pulled them towards Cradle, hoping that they would help drive away the darkness and free it from it's confining chains.

The knights were called to Cradle to free it from the spreading corruption. If Cradle falls, the Swarm will spread to other worlds, consuming them in ever expanding destruction.

I got this from theory, The echo stone pages, the Skylark page, FSC page, Tinkinzar/gremlin pages,

Hmmmm a few things in common

Hmmmm a few things in common with my theories, but a few things i didn't think of either. I kinda find it interesting to think that the core is what "caused" the skylark crash.

For me I have an idea as to why cradle was created.

To protect the core. Whether the core has a conscience of its own or not can go either way in my theories. I think that it was sought to protect the core from being that would use its incredible power to the wrong reasons. destroy other worlds and other generally evil things. So it took (main difference between theories) land and life from other planets to create a random path way that one would have to get through to even get to the seal of the core. The architect (assumed to be King Tinkizar) was the one that brought the gremlins to create and work on the clockworks. Now the Swam is the main evil of the game, and in turn, gives balance to it. The core being the main good, and the swarm being its opposite. However, if the Swarm was to reach the core, it would corrupt the it (as it did to King Tinkizar). Sorry that was kinda a jumbled mess that may be hard to follow ><
