Geeeeez I couldn't find any guides on the tier 2 shadow lair thingies lol.

Soooooo what equips/trinkets/weapons should I use? I'm hoping what I have is good enough, but am willing to craft more stuff if it'll make a significant improvement...
looked up the monsters on the wiki, it said mostly constructs with gremlins and slimes (same as the regular one, but t3?) so...

Helmet: Vog Cub Cap
Armor: Vog Cub Coat
Shield: Grey Owlite Shield
weapon 1: Divine Avenger
weapon 2: Shivermist Buster
weapon 3: Silent Nightblade (do I needa upgrade it to Acheron?)
weapon 4: Gigawatt Pulsar (...or polaris?)
trinket: dunno, sword damage?

I dunno, I geared this primarily toward elemental and fire defense (and because I don't have too many other 5* armor/hats o.o). Any improvements/changes?
Also, I'll still be able to craft a snarbolax coat if I do this shadow lair, right? I got all the ingredients, but the first time around, my ash tail coat was a half level off D:

Shadow Lair wiki article

The Spiral Knights wiki article "Shadow Lair" offers basic information about each Shadow Lair --- what monsters there are, and hence what armor and weapons you should take --- except for SIMF.

I haven't done it, but my understanding is that SIMF is roughly like regular IMF, but with fire added on. So you want normal, elemental, shock, and fire armor. You want elemental and shadow weapons. Someone else will chime in with more detail.

There are some videos on YouTube that cannot help but show you more detail of this intriguing adventure time for you and your family.

Edit: Yes, you'll be able to craft your Snarbolax armor; the Sanctuary is the same after every Shadow Lair, except for the material that you get.

ok

Get a piece of Grey Feather in there, it has elemental, normal, fire, and shock. The stun weakness is irrelevant.

Ditch the Shivermist. There aren't enough enemies in regular IMF to justify bringing a freeze bomb, so it probably wouldn't be much better in shadow IMF.

Upgrade everything to 5* because Shadow Lairs are really difficult in comparison to normal levels.

@Gumball Your gear is good. I

@Gumball
Your gear is good. I would upgrade the Polaris first, and then Acheron, because these items will help a lot. The ideal armor for UIMF is Grey Feather armor, which trade's Vog's ASI boost for shock resistance. I dunno if I'd spend another ~3000ce on shock resistance though.
Ultimately I don't think UIMF is about gear as much as it is the players and co-ordination. UIMF is HARD, even for a well-coordinated group. It's arguably the hardest challenge in the game right now. (UFSC is a pushover, except for SVanaduke himself.)

@metagenic "So it probably wouldn't be much better in UIMF"
If you haven't done it, you probably shouldnt be giving such concrete advice. Shivermist in UIMF is *priceless*.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to

Yeah, it's pretty hard to choose the right gear for SIMF as it pretty much includes everything plus the most annoying shock. It's pretty much a choice between elemental defence or shock resist (don't tell me about ele armors with max shock). As for the shiver, it is a must and it won't hurt if you have another back-up shiver. The main problem in SIMF is that you are stuck in a small room with like 10+ "shocking" robots and quicksilvers running loose. A good way to stay alive is shivering them in one place or using polaris to try to block their advancing. Just remember to take out the turrets and retrodes first if possible and make good use of the switches to separate yourselves from the monsters.

I bring shiver to regular

I bring shiver to regular IMF. You don't need to use it much/often to make it worthwhile, it just needs to be worth it the times you DO use it. Multiple the difficulty and otherwise badassitude of the lair into SL an add on fire + all that nasty SL stuff and I fully expect that somethin' that can alreayd be useful in regular IMF would be priceless in SIMF.
