Checked search for 'minerals' out to ten pages, didn't find any topics similar to this one.

Brief synopsis:
Have certain mineral clusters count for multiple mineral types. This suggestion basically covers a mix-and-match approach to certain mineral formations, allowing, for example, a two-point mineral to be half-crimsonite / half-luminite, and etc. Seeing as minerals are (theoretically) evenly distributed when they are generated, I don't see any real harm in adding the occasional cluster of minerals including two colors instead of one, as long as the total number of minerals garnered from harvesting the multicolored variants is the same as the total from harvesting a regular monochromatic mineral.

Implementation
I am not asking for bigger minerals or shinier minerals, and I am not asking for glowing SuperCoolGuys(TM)-only minerals. The current system for determining the relative worth of minerals in regards to each other based on size and shape works very well. Don't screw with it.

This suggestion, again, only covers the possibility of mineral variants occurring within deposits of other mineral variants, with the end result of harvesting said deposits being a mixed cargo of two (or possibly more) colors, totalling the same number of minerals one would receive from picking up a monochromatic (pure) mineral deposit chunk of the same size and shape.

Whether or not the development team wants to color-gradiate, add stripes, add polka-dots, or checkerboard the mineral deposits marked as being multifunctional is an aesthetic decision I will leave to the artists - all I'm suggesting is that there's an occasional change in the mineral purity ratios.

I saw these coming and have taken the liberty of preemptively addressing them::
My two-colored mineral deposit dropped a one-pointed mineral!
Randomly generate a color between the two available mineral colors generated with the deposit. Alternatively, simply make it random when you hit the lift. This applies below, as well.

My two-colored mineral deposit dropped a three-pointed mineral!
Two of the points will be one color, one will be the other. Stop being difficult.

Why isn't picking up a single mineral color good enough for you?
It is, but it would still be neat to occasionally have the opportunity to pick up one set of two colors I want instead of having to choose between two equally-sized mineral variants of differing hues.

I like the simplicity of single-color mineral deposits!
If gates worked that way too, I would agree.

That's racist.
Stop that.

I don't feel as though this would break any existing game mechanics or have any adverse effects on the in-game economy. I also feel as though it would be incredibly easy to implement, and that a lot of players would enjoy a little more diversity in mineral deposits. Interested in hearing thoughts, ideas, and opinions.

Neat Idea. Countless times

Neat Idea. Countless times I've walked into a mineral room with 5 mineral deposits, all red and all dropping 1 pointed minerals. Where's the fun in that?

That's racist.
I couldn't resist.
"Stop that"
Okay. :<

Sillyness aside. I would love to see multicolored pretties for picking up.
