Daggers

I just wanted to suggest my unoriginal idea of daggers.

You have one dagger in each hand with your shield on your back. One dagger would take up your shield slot. When you block, your knight crosses the daggers, creating a weak shield.

They would have an attack speed twice of that of a normal speed sword of its * and an attack about half as strong. For a charge attack your knight spins a couple of times on the spot, dealing a higher amount of damage than a normal attack with less knockback.

Please do not refer me to something like a cutter, because I do NOT mean a sword. I mean daggers.

Daggers & Knights

Were this game expanded beyond knights and monsters... I'd say go for it...
However a general rule of any "royal" order/ "Knight code" is that daggers are to be generally avoided for the sake of honor in battle. A sword and shield is the knight's bread and butter within the battlefield, a dagger is not.
Like the idea, but Spiral KNIGHTS kinda.... yeah... cancels instantly.

Eh...

@Skold-The-Drac: Not to be a snob, but about that....

Knights normally use Fencing foils, guns, bombs, magic (Alchemy would count, back in ye olde days), and items that actually DO increase your ability?

I'd say knives daggers would be more of an assassin's weapon, so perhaps a MSI low while using the weapon? (Correct me if I'm wrong, this would be a total PAIN THE FECAL MATTER DISTRIBUTOR to program, right?).

Also, I think holding the daggers in a backhand grip would be cool, with the charge attack instead being that you spin and throw the knives one immediately following the other for a quick succession 2-hit combo, the second knife having a slight chance for stun.

And falcon run while holding them! :D

I think

Don't duelists sometimes have a dagger in one hand, a "main gauche" that is used to trap enemies blades and slit open them? And spiral knights does have tabards, which is what duellists wear, so the daggers may be keeping in line. Though I wonder why spiral knights have duellist attire, when knights joust, not duel >_>

"Please do not refer me to something like a cutter"

Lol.

The cutter is an actual sword, a dagger is knife sized. Mechanics-wise, they're similar. But in actual concept, no.

I'm feeling this is just a hidden "dual wielding" suggestion. Seeing as most of those get shot down pretty quickly, I suggest you work on making it groundbreaking in order to have it recognized. It is different, but it's still too close to the stereotypical dual wielding idea if you ask me.

Well...

I don't actually think daggers and cutters are alike. It's just that in other threads people replied to this idea with "You want a dagger? We have one. A cutter. " and I was wondering how a fast sword is equal to dual daggers.

Well

The thing is, the shield is being sacrificed for raw speed, with a weak barrier for emergencies. So this would act like an assassin class more than just a dual wielding thing.

Although now that I think about it, I think this idea may be a bit complex for the game in it's current stage.
