The reason it was odd to me because I do not recall getting a proto sword.

Wow, I'd ask them to keep the sword but give back the 25 + 100cr wasted sending a mail with attachments.

@Juances - you only pay 100cr when a mail has attachments, and 25 if not. They don't add up.
@Asukalanforum - of course you can send an unbound proto sword in mail, like any other item.
Seems like at some point in the past you sent a mail to someone saying "Here is a gift" and attaching a proto sword. The attachment was never accepted by the recipient and after the mail was deleted after 30 days, the Spiral Postmaster returned the attachment to you, the sender.
