Hi! Is there a way to alter the screen size of the game client? The bottom (and top) is cut off on my 15" screen :S

Try Various Image Resolutions

Have you tinkered around with the various image resolution options via the Options panel? If you are unsure which, I suggest you rightclick on a blank space on your computer desktop to bring up the Display Properties menu. Don't change it there (on your computer's display properties), but write it down so you can try choosing that setting under SK options.

Display Properties>Settings>Image Resolution

(Sorry if you already knew all this and I'm being unnecessarily informative here.)

Sorry to bump, I'm having the same problem; but whenever I change the resolution in game it just closes. Is there anything I can do?

If trying to change

If trying to change resolution crashes the client please make sure that you Java version and video drivers are up to date first.

If still having that problem try this from the sticky'd thread. This is a more last resort and inputting wrong values and make thegame not work.

Are you getting a black screen/a malfunctioning full-screen/bad resolution?
You will need to try and set Spiral Knights to its minimum display settings:

  1. Close Spiral Knights (if it's running).
  2. Click on the 'Start' menu and then click on 'Run'.
  3. Type in "regedit" and hit 'OK': this will bring up the Registry Editor. Warning: Please do not change anything else in the registry since it could cause severe problems.
  4. Browse through the registry tree and expand to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\projectx'
  5. Double-click each of the below registry keys (if present) and type in the corresponding value:
    1. display_mode = 1024, 600, 32, 60
    2. fullscreen = false
    3. render_quality = /L/O/W
    4. vsync_enabled = false
  6. Close the Registry Editor and start Spiral Knights
  7. .

The values in "a." can be changed to suit your window size. The first number is horizontal window size and the second is vertical in pixels. Choose a common value (like one from the in game drop-down list) that fits on your screen would be best. Don't change the other two numbers.

The value of "c." can also be "M/E/D/I/U/M" or "H/I/G/H" depending on what your computer is capable of running. If "c." isn't there, don't worry for now.

Have you managed to launch the game yet? Most values will not show up unless they are non-default or the client has been run and you've logged in.

Are you unable to toggle V-Sync though Options -> General -> Video Options? That's were you should normally look.

Please remember that the registry editing option is more of a last ditch approach to those suffering crashes when changing video settings. You should only start looking into it after you've confirmed everything else is up to date as per the Technical Help Sticky.
