I find myself totally digging the in game music. I was just wondering, will it ever be available for download/purchase/whatever?

Oh no no no I get the credit

Oh no no no I get the credit for this and idk if you were supposed to tell them where it came from.

Also, interesting enough if some have XP it's not where Magnus listed.

In XP it's in the Application Data folder.

I am guessing you have win 7 Magnus?

Its actually surprisingly good, I had not listened to it until a Guild Member commented on it since I usually mute games just as I start

People still use XP, despite the fact that it's so old that it's very close to not getting ANY updates anymore.

Lul yes magnus I only have Windows Media Center 2003 or Window XP Professional OEM version.

I won't be getting a new OS until probably Win 8 comes out.

How in the hell do you quote

How in the hell do you quote people on this stupid junky forum software anyhow?

I can't get anything else OS wise because my 7 year old laptop's hardware doesn't support anything else. I would love to try out the new flashy Win 7.

"I am guessing you have win 7 Magnus?"

Can't account for him, but for me it's also installed in AppData (AppData/LocalLow/spiral/rsc/sound/music or somesuch, not on my computer with SK on it at the moment) and I'm using Win7.

Perhaps if you installed it before a certain point in the development time, it installed in Program Files?

If you used the web installer

If you used the web installer the all the game data is in the AppData folder. If you used the downloadable installer the game data is where ever you told it to install to. (Like my game is installed to E:\Games\Spiral Knights)

I totally agree that the soundtrack is very good. When I first started, the tune that was playing when I arrived just totally jumped out at me and right away it one was of the things that got me interested in this game. Speaking of which, I'm listening to that track right now. XD

Whoa, GodofSpyke1, you may wanna hold off on the female anatomy references. Family friendly game. Also, learn to take a joke.

I run this game under WinXP, Ubuntu, and Win7. I've had no complaints with any of them.

I would really like to listen

EDIT: Quite the egg hunt it was to find the music! But, I've figured it out if anyone else is still troubled.

For me, there was no "C:\Program Files (x86)\Three Rings Design\" directory to be found (I have been using the web-launched version this whole time, so that's to be expected). I found a separate installer at the bottom of http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Technical_issues_FAQ , Direct Link: http://download.threerings.net/spiral/client/spiral-install.exe

After installing, I launched the game and let it patch, then closed it and looked for Program Files\Three Rings Design as mentioned earlier. Strangely, that's not where it installed for me. I right-clicked and opened the Properties window for the Spiral Knights launcher. One of the lines mentions "Start in: C:\Users\YOUR COMPUTER USERNAME HERE*\AppData\Roaming\Three Rings Design\Spiral Knights\"

The full directory for where music can be found (for me on Windows 7, 64-bit) was as follows:
C:\Users\YOUR COMPUTER USERNAME HERE*\AppData\Roaming\Three Rings Design\Spiral Knights\rsrc\sound\music

I don't know if you actually need to use the above linked installer for it to be found at the specified location, so look there before you mess with it, and use it if the folder does not exist.

Thanks a bunch for the thread! I wouldn't have thought to look for it had it not been made.
Truly outstanding soundtrack too, eh?

If you use the web installer

If you use the web installer (majority of people) your music will be in the AppData\Roaming directory.

Using the Web installer the game will be where ever you want it to be.

In both cases the the ...\rsrc\sound\music folder will exist.

Yep, some of the music is

Yep, some of the music is just wonderful.
The title track gets some epic moments about three-quarters through to the end.

FenixStryk, however, has the right idea.
Go to the icon you use to open Spiral Knights.
It's a shortcut.
You can view where a shortcut leads to with rightclick->properties->target/start in.
This method can be used to find the installation/data folders for most programs, games or otherwise.

Raul
Yup that's about right. So it

Yup that's about right.

So it appears in 2 places depending on which installer you use. Interesting.

Me on XP it's in the Application Data folder under Documents and Settings

It's called the way I talk.

Also, just posting those things without the context for which it applied does nothing for your argument.

UPDATE

UPDATE: when you download spiral knights through the web installer there are only two tracks, the main theme and title theme. to get all of them, you can download through steam. once downloaded click open file location on steam, search for the spiral knights folder then go to rsrc and sound. that was the only way i could get all the songs

Mizumaru
Steam?

Is there a way to get to these files if you have the game downloaded through Steam? Also, I'd like to pay for the OST to help fund Three Rings and their future Doctor Who MMO. If there IS going to be an OST for purchase. There should be.
