I'm having a similar problem

I'm having a similar problem with my laptop. The black screen stays and I do not receive an error report. It just displays a black screen with the background music playing and the mouse still recognizing the text boxes and buttons.

Have either of you performed

Have either of you performed the Java and Video driver update recommended in the Technical Help Sticky?

Yeah I did that last Sunday

Yeah I did that last Sunday when I first joined. I forgot to add that I had the latest version of java. Is there another way to fix the black screen problem?

STILL WAITING!!!

I have already checked the help sticky and the problem still persists. Yes I am able to play on another computer, but I would like to be able to play on my computer. I have checked the other black screen posts, but none seem to be like my problem. The black screen does not close the game instead it the game windows acts as if it is running fine, but nothing is visually displayed. Again, is there any way for me to fix this problem with my laptop?

i talked to tech support

i talked to tech support about this, gave them all possible info. then they give up and say my video ram or memory ram is bad.
which i know is bs because i can run any game i own perfectly without issues.

games i can run perfectly

fallout 3
monday night combat
dragon age
half life 2
team fortress 2
dc universe online
world of warcraft
lead and gold
magicka
mass effect 2

now you see, if my video ram, or physical memory was bad none of these games would run perfectly
they just got tired and gave up

OberonNexus The Intel 945

The Intel 945 Intergrated Video is technically not supported and tends not to run this game very well due to lackluster OpenGL support from Intel during that generation. The only advice I can give you is to make absolutely sure that you have the latest drivers directly available from Intel's site. Playability on these chipsets is rather hit or miss.

Do you have a link to your system configuration? It's nice that you can play DirectX games, but OpenGL games generally require the most up to date drivers directly from your graphics card vendor. This is due to traditionally delayed fixes and optimizations due to the lack of big ticket titles on OpenGL.
