Can anyone get me some hard numbers on Hunting Blade vs Vile Striker?

I want to compare their damage, mathematically, in Tier 2 and 3
that also includes the 5* variants of the swords
I only have a hunting blade and not enough materials, crowns, or energy to make a vile striker

Here's the thing, meowreka. Poison drastically lowers defense. So, no matter WHAT you're hitting with the vile striker series, as long as it can be poisoned, you will be doing more overall DPS. Considerably more.
Vile Striker's line also makes soloing Royal Jelly a joke.
So again I say: Poisoning weapon good, version of same weapon without poison useless.

I recall reading somewhere that the hunting blade line did slightly more base damage than the vile striker line but I can't actually find anything to back that up now. Wiki images implies they do the same base damage. Even if the hunting blade line did slightly more damage I doubt it would offset the defense penalty from poisons (to say nothing of the other advantages that poisons give).

That's why I was asking for anyone who has both weapons, or knows someone who can help them to compare damage against enemies so we can get some real numbers on the damage.
I refuse to believe that the Hunting Blade is outright useless. Three Rings wouldn't do that to me... would they?

Well knowing that, then, Hazel... I will be content with having a less-than-perfect weapon for tier 3 romps.
I'd rather be slightly less powerful than a Venom Striker user, who is slightly less powerful than an Avenger user... than use the weapon that everyone is using and look incredibly non-stylish.

And as a note: WHB actually had less base damage than DVS, in the preview times. It seems their attack bar is the same now, although I'm not really able to test that, since I don't have either.

In other news, I'm told the hunting blade has a wider and longer area of effect than the the vile striker. But since both make you move around the battle field like some kind of spastic knife salesman trying to hock his wares upon the monsters in the Clockworks, range is a moot point.

Hunting blade +10 damage(high) vs beasts, I have both swords. Both hit the same on everything else, normal damage.
One poisons, one doesn't.
The one that doesn't is useless.
