I may be an utter noob or quite incompetent, but I can't log in to the Steam application "Spiral Knights Preview."

I have installed it, but it just gives me a log in screen that appears to be incompatible with my Steam account, saying that there is "No Such User" when I enter my Steam username and password. There is no "Use Steam Account" option that would usually be on the Spiral Knights app, and I've payed much more than $9.95 on only my Steam account.

Although, I do like the expanding Options window, it's fancy.

Agreed.

Same thing happens to me. Kinda peeved that they included a Steam download minus the Steam. Help would be appreciated.

I could be wrong but this may

I could be wrong but this may have to do with them trying to keep the download up-to-date on steam. they could've messed it up and pushed the same update to both distribution platforms... Anyway this must've been recently because my fiancee just downloaded the steam version last night and it works fine.

I had authentication

I had authentication errors.

What I tried was right-clicking spiral knights preview, going to properties, local client, then verify integrity of the cache. After I did that I restarted steam and when trying to run SK again it was starting to download some additional files. Still seem to have the authentication issues. I'll see if I can fix it.

(Each time it says that two files failed to do something and would be reacquired. I do think steam's doing something screwy).

Nope.

Xanafein's idea didn't work. Obviously. Kinda common sense to reinstall. And Wuvvums, I'm fairly sure you're having a very different problem, indeed.
