That's why it ran out so fast. Silver keys are 750 CE each, not a worthwhile investment for a newcomer.

Well, they are right about the silver keys being expensive, and usually not worthwhile (I once got a prismatech glow eyes in one so I like them)
However, if you're wondering about how you have "438", the crafting uses mist before crystal, just like elevators in clockworks.
I'm curious, what'd you mean by: "I bet if I ask next ear I'll get some more" <- Meaning you'll get free CE somehow?
My personal recommendation is to not use it all at once (a little late) and use it when you really need it. I made my purchase last me a while, but once I used it all, I was somewhat helpless without it XP. You usually get roughly 5-7k with 100 mist in clockworks, so 1 run in clockworks is roughly 100 CE.
