what do you advise me ? i'm swordsman and i don't know what choose.
Graviton Vortex or Electron Vortex
Neither, since you are a swordsman. The Electron is nice, but for it to be affective to a non-bomber you need a decent CTR UV. Good luck affording one of those.
This belongs in the arsenal section btw.
imao, i'm thinking electron. Elemental is better for undead and constructs, whereas shadow is good for gremlins and slimes.
Its really just up to you.
sonce its not a damage class bomb, id go with the electron, for possibility of shocking enemies, keeping them in an easy to deal with, clumped up state
Electron, definitely if you are a swordsman. If you're combo-ing it with a charge attack then the damage dealt is comparatively much less, and the shock much more useful.
Also you don't 'need' a CTR UV. If you find trouble planting it, maybe get a CTR trinket, but I used to run with an un-UV'd one and did fine, just takes a bit of getting used to. In FSC it's super easy now that zombies attack... soooo... slowwwwwlyyyy.
Diamondshreddie is correct. Always electron, unless you have the funds to make both, and the other would replace for gremlin/slime levels.
@Dirt
With enough practice, my EV without any bonuses (besides it being levelled) is a fantastic bomb to bring to almost everywhere.
Have a good amount of experience with the bomb before stating information about it, please.
I really like your posts, I believe this is the only one that's slightly false.
Edit: Sniped by Velcro!
Keep in mind that the electron vortex requires PvP recipes, which are untradeable and (by my estimates) take about 3x as long to earn as regular recipes. Hope you like Lockdown.
Electron vortex is better simply for the status effect.
Damage type itself is irrelevant; once they're clustered you can just swing away, and the explosion probably does half as much as nitronome.
As an added bonus, shock causes AoE damage, so once they're shocked, placing another bomb causes huge spreads of damage while they're pinned together.
Even the mere pulling effect is so useful, I would even use the EV on Voltails.
Neither. I want Molten Vortex, or Subzero Vortex.
I think what Yagballs is trying to say ... is that since neither molten nor subzero vortex are included in the game, and dont need to be for that matter, he thought the idea was childish, and felt the need to express it aloud
@Antistone Actually i went with electron first BECAUSE it was Krogmo Coins. I was playing PvP anyways (blast network at the time) to kill time when I didn't have energy. So I got the coins without too miuch trouble. Yes, the coins "cost" crowns in playing games (unless you win the game, in which case the coins are free and actually make you crowns). But it also meant i had them to spend, and then there were 3 less recipes to curse Basil about not having and spend my crowns on. So, for some graviton may be "cheaper" because it is straight crowns, for other it might be electron. That might factor in.
If you measure the time it takes to grind out the recipe cost (clockworks vs. lockdown), the krogmo recipes are significantly more expensive. Even if you assume you're running the clockworks on CE rather than mist, and that you have to pay auction house prices rather than Basil prices, the krogmo recipes still take around 3x as long to acquire.
At least, comparing Lockdown to the rate that I can farm the clockworks. Some people may farm clockworks faster or slower than me. And I didn't time Blast Network; maybe it's faster?
And yes, OK, maybe you already have a giant pile of krogmo coins that you don't need for anything else. But you could still convert them into crowns by buying enamorocks and/or mod calibrators and selling them to other players, and selling the krogmo coins needed to buy one set of recipes will make you approximately enough money to buy one set of Basil recipes from the auction house. So if that's your situation, the krogmo recipes are merely "about the same". They're still not cheaper.
Elsewise, stick to attempting to get gravi to work out. Since grabbing electron's full abilities requires a heck of a long time and isn't recommended for many players.
IF you actually enjoy beating the crap out of wolver clones/ BN players when you're not dead.. enjoy playing! As a bomber with light swordplay, I have to admit EV is amongst my best investments. With a party that knows how vortexes work, levels in PvE can fly by. I don't have a single UV on any weapons, and EV still is the king of my arsenal, 2nd place is a tie between freeze/flame bombs.
I pickied Graviton for a all use bomb, even in status places. The fact that if a quicksilver was shocked in the vortex, you get the rest.
"The fact that if a quicksilver was shocked in the vortex, you get the rest."
That doesn't really matter, if they want, they can self-ignite, and can slaughter w/e is inside it if they clip. Thats really the only instance where Graviton "wins" against Electron because everywhere else Electron does a better or equal (shock immune enemies) job.
If the quicksilver gets shocked that's even better since it'll kill pretty much everything else that was in the vortex.
Meh. I prefer Gravi just because I don't want to waste CE on getting a different Variaton of the weapon I got. Also, I don't play LD alot.
Electron Vortex since it will usually keep stuff inside thanks to the shock property.
