Guess OOO didn't want to wait until the missions update to kill the recipe reselling market.
EDIT: Wait, if this is so, is there a way to unbind them? Because if there isn't that means there will be no use in the slightest to buy a recipe that has already been learned... Meaning that Basil will eventually sell mostly useless recipes... And will eventually be COMPLETELY USELESS. Why on earth would OOO do this?
Really? then the recipe section on AH is now useless.
(technically, will be, when stored recipes are sold out)
Or did they remove that too?
Anyone Confirmed this yet? If not, I'll get on my Alt & check.
I can still trade recipe from Vatel but i havnt gone down to Basil yet
but this is seriously stupid.........
I remember reading on the mission preview something alone the lines of "...Lastly, it's worth noting that the Supply Depot is built to exist in a world where crafting and unbinding is an important part of Spiral Knights..." Is this like a pre-supply depot thing?
god.....at least do this AFTER the mission systems are released.....but even then its completely stupid.......
Once I reach a Terminal, I'll Inform you guys.(Or a GM could Answer this right away & make it Easier for me...)
I checked with Nick and no, Basil recipes are not all bind on purchase. Please verify your info before getting your bowels in an uproar. :)
1) Where did you find this information?
2) I can still sell the recipes in my inventory.
3) The text on my recipes say one of two things: "This item will bind to you when equipped." (1-3 star) and "This item will bind to you when acquired." (4-5 star). I can see how someone can read the second one and think that the recipe is bound when acquired, but what it actually probably means is that 4-5 star items are made from bound items and so give bound items.
ETA: Krogmo recipes have both of the above texts, and in the case of Krogmo recipes, it does mean that the recipe is bound when acquired. So some change in wording may be in order.
Just some thoughts.
The only bound recipes that I know of are the ones gotten via the krogmo coins.
then my did my guildmate say that he cant trade the recipe i asked for.....
@Eurydice There might be some confusion as I've noticed that 4* and 5* recipes have a notice on them saying "This item will bind to you when acquired". It should probably say "This item will bind to you when crafted".
silly guild mates scared the hell out of me.....>.>
need to do some complaining to them when i log back on.......
@Eurydice: sorry about that :P I was going crazy when I heard that they would be bound.
You seriously made me lol! and that cookie post! My goodness your a silly goose~!
that... PHEW!!! cause then really... think about it, there would be no purpose for the recipe section i the AH
zomg #*!&;#: trolls or just extremly not enough clever players...
This is a good thing. OOO wants us to earn our crowns/equipment by actual clockwork exploration, and not taking advantage of the market by buying/reselling things that are easily obtained with a little effort.
Now players will actually have to explore and clear out stratums past 13/23 if they want to make any money. Very smart move by OOO. I'm glad they did so.
And yes, I just tested it, went down to D13 and bought a couple 4* recipes from Basil. They do indeed bind on purchase now.
yeah trollytryhard, continue that even if admin denyed that
and saying that recipes being bound on on purchase is good thing, is most tupid thing i ever read, you are either very pathetic troll or you are completly mad, noobish pseudo elite player (credit card warrior or you made that way up with cheats and scams) that would want to screw game for everyone else and make it harder to earn crowns to remin at your wealth status
making recipes bound on purchase would not only make ah recipes section useless but would also take away one of few ways to earn extra crowns
if ooo would make thing like tha that would be most stupid thing i can imagine , combining things like that (cutting proft sources) + ce only promos appearing more and more often , would only show how bad they care about players and how they try to milk us fro our money hopping for every $ on every opportunity
hope ooo will never make thing like that and noone mad enough will never suggest thing like that
yea, I took advantage of the market to get my shivermist recipe the other day. Bought it from some poor guy on the AH for 25700cr. He lost 1870cr on the transaction.
oh, and they need to bind materials too, since those are sold for profit too. I sold bushy tails for 300cr each a little while ago. I have no clue what they are used to craft, so off they went.
And then the strangers will start robbing us in broad daylight.
Once more, Basil's recipes do not bind on equip. If you believe that they have been, you are mistaken.
Nothing more to discuss here.
If this is true... I'm dying because that's how I make money on AH...
