So I have decided to craft a Skolver Set and I was wondering what some good UVs are for this set? What would complement it the best?

I am also crafting Acheron, Combuster, and Voltedge. What would work well with those swords?

I have a Glacius with DBvsSlime Low and it doesnt seem to help much so that is why I am asking.

Thanks!

I really like having Charge

I really like having Charge Time Reduction UVs on Brandish swords. If you add one Elite Sword Focus trinket to a Low CTR UV, you will have Ultra CTR on a Level 10 sword. The swords are already pretty fast, so having an Attack Speed Increase isn't as noticeable as it would be for slow swords like the Divine Avenger.

Other than CTR, try to get a UV that plays into the sword's strengths. For Acheron, this would be a Slime or Gremlin UV, since those are the families that are vulnerable to shadow damage. For the Combuster, Voltedge, and Glacius, this would be an Undead or Construct UV, because they are elemental swords.

I'll let somebody else answer regarding the Skolver set.

Are you going to use Skolver

Are you going to use Skolver in PvE or PvP ? If it's for PvE, FSC specifically or all-around ?

PvP -> Shock because Skolver already protect from Freeze and Shock is very annoying
FSC -> Fire, because well, there is fire everywhere
all-around -> whatever you feel is the most threatening, no definitive answer there. If you don't know, you can't go wrong with normal, but you are probably not going to notice the difference.

PvP I would also value Shadow

PvP I would also value Shadow on a Skolver. The two biggest killers in T3 PvP are BTB/FF (Piercing) & GF (Shadow/Normal). Yeah, I would have to go with Shock as the most annoying status to be under though.

Oh yeah +1 for CTR on Brandishes (I run my Voltedge at Max CTR & love it though more for PvE). I would also love to get a Nightblade with VH ASI (killer in T2 PvP).

The problem with Shock UV for

The problem with Shock UV for PvP is that you need like Max + High (one on each piece of skolver) to have Shock resistance to walk through a Voltaic Tempest cloud. You aren't likely to craft both of those, let alone one. And if you buy them, it'll cost a good bit of money. Although, shock UV for PvE would still be useful since it would reduce the time you are affected by shock.

Skolver Fire High (or Max) is nice for FSC, and I have fire high myself, but you'll still need elemental defense or the traps will be extremely painful (they do elemental and fire damage). I use Vog Cub Cap + Ash Tail Coat (Fire High) and that really cuts down the fire damage. If I wasn't going to craft it into snarbolax, I'd craft it into Skolver (I prefer the damage bonus).

Freeze can be nice if you are only going to wear one piece of Skolver. Freeze can be extremely deadly sometimes, but it doesn't seem like the freeze theme comes up often (thanks people who drop tons of purple minerals). Poison can be useful for Shadow Gloaming Wildwoods. Stun can be great against trojans, lumbers, and Vanaduke.

It really is just a matter of what you want to counter. I feel like the non-status UVs are best as more of the same, since if I want elemental or Shadow defense I'm going to switch to a different set of gear.

For pve, uv on armour is not

For pve, uv on armour is not as necessary, unless your set has a negative resistance to something. My skolver coat has a piercing med from crafting, I just take it as it is. Fire is not dangerous, it is just an attack that deals damage over time. The same as taking an attack.

Shock is one of the more deadly status, both pve and pvp. While under fire/freeze, you can still shield. Shock is less about damage received, but the pseudo freeze and shield drop.

Expensive as heck though, shock resistance being so useful.

In the future, as you craft more armour pieces for the appropriate strat damage, damage uv's not the same as your armour becomes less important. Vog for fsc/imf, skolver for rjp, that kind of idea.

If in doubt, more normal is always a good idea, since most strats deal normal damage.

IMO...

I personally love some Stun Resist in my armor. It has saved my life several dozen times for when Lumbers, Trojans, and Vanaduke come crashing down on your head.
