This would be cool. Make it 3-star, and shoot 12 rounds a burst, but only have 1 clip. Make it have about 1.4x the damage of Autogun, as it's an upgrade is this. The charge attack must shoot 30 shots, but take twice the time to charge. And, make a 1-star one, maybe Proto Machinegun? Remember the 5-Star one aswell, Spiral Deluxe Machinegun. What Ztype said. Just use a Blitz/Plague needle.
Also, realize that NO weapon on Spiral Knights goes all the way from 1*-5*.

Ok, let me complain now.
His idea has double the amount of bullets (12) but one burst, wich is the same since the original has 6 bullets and the pause between the second burst is pretty short. Then let's check the charge. Takes twice the time to charge but also shoots twices as much bullets -30 vs the orignal 15-
D'oh, how original.
So yes, little details aside,it's the same thing.

So make it different
To jazz it up a little, make it different from other stuff, you could make it like a 'laser'- hold down the trigger, and it keeps firing.
It would probably need to be weaker than the average gun to balance its rate of fire, but, hey, I'm just throwing out ideas. What do you think?

Sorry, I just brought up the continuous-fire weapon because this 'machine gun' was too similar to current guns.
I only use laser as a working title- I wouldn't want anything in the game to have a name like that- that would be boring!
But these forums are for constructive criticism and making suggestions, after all, so does anyone have ideas on how to improve this?

So just a regular autogun line weapon except without the option to only fire the first burst? if I wanted to use the blitz charge then I would simply use the blitz charge.
