Those of you who have reached the core know what Vaelyn, the guy in charge, talks to you about. He explains how the Alpha Squad were the best, how they made it down here, and that the core swallowed them. I think it would be really cool if:
1) you found out that one of the Alpha Squad members got separated on the way down, and didn't reach the core with the others and instead was driven insane while he was lost.
2) you find out he saw his squad members get swallowed by the core and he was far enough away/behind that instead of being sucked in, he and his armor absorbed part of the enormous energy source that allowed the Core to be opened, driving him insane.
However the story will go, I was thinking of having this set of levels take place as an alternate route from the first level of the Firestorm Citadel, The Blackstone Bridge. This is a reasonable place to get lost (scenario 1), say if there was a "hidden path" he found after crossing the bridge; however, I still am trying to figure out a reasonable scenario for how he could have retreated if you have chosen scenario 2 for how he was driven insane. He could have a Corrupted Leviathan Blade or probably a Cold Iron Vanquisher due to the large quantities of the undead down there and a Corrupted Aegis for a shield, both available for drop (rare, and the only boost to "Corrupted" items would be shadow resistance) and have the Almire Crusader Helm and Armor as well.
The rooms could go as follows: The Blackstone Bridge, A Hidden Path, The Side Wing, The Tower.
He has taken refuge in one of the Firestorm Citadel's old towers, and as you walk finish The Side Wing you find an intentionally broken elevator.... Once you pass this you find him in shadows to the side of the door looking for something on a desk and he says, (Surprised and remember, he's crazy)
"Oh, more visitors! If you'll please excuse me I need to find something I fear I misplaced here..."
You - Wait, aren't you part of the Alpha Squad?!?
"OK I found it! Now I must take you to where I have taken refuge in this horrible castle."
The Tower page loads up and you are at the base of the tower and he says, " Did you know that legend says that this armor was worn by some of the most elite guards of Almire? I found it here and took it to guard myself against the horrible creatures down here, but I keep my old armor nearby just in case...." (His old armor is the Azure Guardian Set)
You - "We really have to get you out of here, and get you back up to Haven where it's safe!"
Him- " I don't want to go back! It's safe here! You'll never make go back through the paths I had to take here, and if you try I'll kill you all!"
--------Sorry, I know it's a long intro, but he recognizes you as a knight, and tries to help you out out of the fear he has of where he is.-----------
Battle:
You are working your way up the tower as the battle progresses, and I don't have the stages planned out like Jelly-King-Smasher, and I'm really disappointed that my idea of having a boss change armor mid battle wasn't original but oh well.
Here's what I have worked out -
-He's crazy agile.
-He can use his shield and use charge attacks like other knights
- When you reach the halfway point of the tower he grabs his old armor out of a recess in the wall and closes a wooden gate to change armor while you finish battling some kats and howlitzers that are in the tower. You finish and the force field falls away from the gate and you hit/shoot it down and you reach a landing where you continue to battle with him up the tower where it ends where he is hit through the wall of the tower and falls.
I need help with the different stages, but I really am open to ideas to add on to this boss because it would be awesome to battle one of the Alpha Squad.
Oh yeah, one of his drops could be a Shadowfire Amulet (Trinket) With the flavor text, "A small amulet that seems to have been made out of dark matter encasing a glowing piece of Shadowfire. Be warned though, it is said that it always seems to mysteriously get lost in dark corners..." (What he was looking for!!)
Please post in response and keep in mind I am very open minded, so I don't mind changing the intro or battle. I was also thinking because of the extent of the talking in the intro this could be a potential mission.
Finally some one who knows what this page is and does a fantastic job.

One idea of mine - feel free to copy it since my thread is now dead. Ill think of some ideas later.
Teir: Shadow
Boss Name: Darkling Droul
Background: A Droul would be a creature that is pure evil. It looks like a bat(or the healing moth thing) exept it is 10x's the size and difficulty plus it does attack. Usually it is covered in an aura of deep mixed black, blue, and purple.
Element: Sleep
Level 1: The Ancient Abbey-Cursed level of the little swarm things all around in a ghost level. You are venturing through its first blockade that was made so that it could never get out to haven. There are 2 other blockades. You are looking at the remnants of an abbey that was peaceful for the depth it was at. When the Darkling Droul came through he destroyed it and but was destroyed by the *Cradles Caretaker*, and his essence was sent to tartaurus where he has reformed again and again. All that was destroyed was still alive(sort of) but was now infected by the combination of pure evil and the swarm.
Level 2: The Church Yard-The once respected now feared grave yard of the Ancient Abbey. This place is covered with phantoms and Drouls and other ghosts, skeletons, and moth healers. This Grave Yard used to be the most elegant place in the depths of Cradle before *Chaos* swept it into the unknown depths. It was swept into the unknown depths by *Chaos* but was destoyed by Darkling Droul on his conquest to the surface. He saw beauty and hated it. Therefor, since no one stopped him, he was able to infect this once elegant place. As you wander through it you find a lost soul who was awoken by the havock that was caused. He still trys to find his grave so he may rest into eternity. He tells you, "I was on my way to my grave when IT came through. It rampaged along and defeated many a Gaurdian turning them into the hideous horse creatures that gaurd Lord Vannaduke. But one of the final stands of the Final Five a soldier named *Gladius* attacked with a curse weapon and was put into eternal sleep but IT backed up and recalled in fear but soon realized it could attack once again moved on. *Gladius* still sleeps in his stone sarcoughogus in a guarded room." (He gave you advice on how to beat it).
Level 3:Tartuarus' Gate-At the entrance to Tartuarus you find a large gateway and a long labyrinth. You must pass through this evil by only attacking what you must(only a sujestion) and just making it to the next elevator. As Darkling Droul passed through the Labrynth he infected it with his thoughts.
Boss Level: Tartauras-You enter and you see a large cloud of evil sends a wind to you. The screen white out and switches to the cloud circling the stadium.
Stage 1: Darkling Droul keeps on circling you then striking (like Delvites). You must shoot him while he's circling(outside the Coluseum low walls) then strike him with any weapons(curse is best) when he comes in to strike.
Stage 2: Darkling Droul become invincible and flys around for 20 seconds trying to kill you.
Stage 3: Repeat Stage 2.
Stage 4: Repeat Stage 2. You beat him and he dies the swarm disipatates and you can grab the module and anything else you want/need.
Reminder: Swarm must be fought in order to continue on fighting.
Items Dropped: Dark Thorn Blade, Piercer Plus, Graviton Reloaded
Token Name: Sleepless Enchantments
Token Deals: 20 SE for Sleeping Shield, 25 SE for Piercer Plus, 30 SE for Graviton Charge, 50 SE for Pure Wings (accessory), 30 SE for Interlocking Armour
Other: The rare *Tortoise am Ambiguator* is cusion to Darkling Droul.
Interlocking Amour: 5 star chain mail that protected the Gaurdians from head on colisions with pure evil.
Sleeping Shield: 5 star shield that when enemy's attack it they fall asleep.
Piercer Plus: 5 star sword like the Grand Flourish that is purple and blue that sends an arch out when charged that puts enimys to sleep.
Graviton Charged: 5 star bomb that is a vortex of gravity that sucks things in then puts them to sleep while shooting them out(also effects you).
Pure Wings: The one item that darkness of this type could not infect. Or was it that it was the one thing that it was the one thing that Darkling Droul didn't want to to infect because of their ghost image of wings.

Look up droul on the wiki before you take it's name to mean something else. And this thread seems like a totally terrible idea, as individal bosses would not get individual attention. Adding tinkinzar to the game wrecks it; it is, in essence, creating an end to the game (and there should be none in MMOs; it takes out the element of replayability). Same goes for the core.
Not hating, just.... insulting (it might be constructive, you never know). Please don't get all pissed off.
On the other bosses, corrupted alpha squad is a decent idea, but one that has been buzzing around a lot. I personally would like to see something to this effect as a compatriot to the unknown passage, with an alpha squad member's darkened clone at the end of each (the true alpha squad should remain to be rescued, or have been purified by the core somehow).
And on the other one is a decent idea except that you are mixing the swarm with the rest of the clockworks. Me no likey.
Let's just say this:

Corrupted Alpha Squad.... I still like my scenario, but no joke I really thought I had thought something original up. I'm new to the forum, and should have looked ahead of time to see if this had been already thought of. Just my luck. lol

Boss Name: King Grem
Background: King Grem is a gremlin criminal mastermind (like KING PIN(
Spider man)) and is wandering the higher depths seeking easy prey and safety from the other gremlins (besides his own of course).
Element: none
Level 1:Treasure Vault of the King- You wander through a system of ruins that hide King Grems treasure. King Grem shows up and disappears quickly each time you step onto a party platform.
Level 2: King Castle- In this level you move through King Grems Castle to try and find him. There are spawners for the tiny gremlins in each room. It's set up like an arena.
Boss Level: King Grem- You walk up to the party platform and King Grem appears. He is large and fat like King Crogmo but evil and he carries a Jalovec styled scyth around.
Stage 1: He swypes the scyth at you (use shield to block) and then hits ground in front of him. You kill him by stunning him by making him hit your shield and then you go and attack his back.
Stage 2: King Grem falls on his #%* (bum) and he gets back up but takes on an element (freeze) and starts spawning ice spikes in a circle around him that you have to break in order to get him again.
Stage 3: Repeat stage 1. You beat him he falls face flat and then you can continue to the elevator.
Token Name: Jewels
Token Deals:
8 Jewels for a Thieved Shield
10 Jewels for a Jel Spike Striker
15 Jewels for Treasure Pouch accessory
Other: Ice Spike Stiker- 2*-a bomb that shoots ice spikes out of the surrounding area like ice jellys. 5* = same size as a giant lichen colony.
Thieved Shield-2*- A once elegant shield that needs more than shinning to brighten it up.
Treasure Pouch-left side accessory-a pouch that was used for collecting taxes from the underworld or crime.

Boss Name: The Architect
Element: Curse
Level 1: Dark Endowments-Every idea in the clockworks has made its way down here at one time or another. Watch out as all the Architect's creatures(mechabots, scuttlebots, mechaknights, gun puppy series) all try to kill you in his lair. This area is made up of an old library of drawings, life size models(rare gear to pick up), and parts to all sorts of bots(including Roarmulus Twins).
Level 2: War Room(testing room)-All unwanted robot ideas show up here(new robots similar to modern) try to kill you as you progress to their outcast maker who took them in. You will make your way through a munitions factory, over an assembly line, and to the end of the level.
Boss Level: The Architect
Stage 1: The Architect walks out of a large study reading a book. You engage him after you disturb him and he drops his book. You must look for a weakness(perfection) in every thing he does. then strike that perfection. He will run into his study after his amour falls off and he is in his robe.
Stage 2: An army of bots battles you while The Architect gets new armour.
Stage 3: Architect comes back out and try's to kill you again then reapeats stage 1.
Stage 4: Repeat stage 2 with More with a second wave.
Stage 5: The Architect comes out with new armour again(Azure Gaurdian gear) and battles you to the death. When he dies he drops the recon module(a piece of paper from the book) and wails. Then bright flash and he disappears leaving a mystery to whether he lives or not.
Items Dropped: Recon Module, 1000 crowns, 25 crystal energy container, heat, Ageis(rare), Shadow Driver(rare), and Nightblade(rare).
Recon Module: SAYS, "The Architect, the creator of all on Spiral(spiral knights planet. not sure) has fallen to the will of *evil*. Who will be next the *caretaker* of cradle or son of *Lord Vannaduke*."
Tokens Name: Plan Sheets
Token Deals: 25 Plan Sheets for Shadow Storm helm, 25 Plan Sheets for Shadow Strom armour, 20 Plan Sheets for Shadow Plate, 15 Plan Sheets for Shadow Aura, 40 Plan Sheets for Twirling Sword.
Other:
Twirling Sword: A 5 star sword like swift flourish that rotates and when charged shoots a wave of shock.
Shadow Storm helm: A 5 star helm crafted by The Architect made to resist curse and shock(resists weak to medium curse and strong shock).
Shadow Storm armour: A 5 star suit of armour created by The Architect to resist curse and shock( resists only strong curse and weak to medium shock).
Shadow Plate Shield: A 5 star shield made to deflect even kats for a while.
