Ok, so, I want to take some bombing tips if anyone has the time to pass them to me. I'll be going 2-slot and haven't decided which two bombs will work best together. I of course know the basics that are just plain logic, but as I say, could do with some tips.

Fallout's been playing for nearly 2 (?) years and may be the best bomber out there, who knows.

I looked at the Bombing Guide, but there was alot of things that seemed rather.. Unclear. But thanks for the thread, I'll definately read that.
Read fallout's thread and also post on that topic if you need help with bombing. The guide on wiki was worked on by Fallout and Eeks if I am not mistaken. Fallout knows a lot about bombing so he be your best help.
This Fallout guy sounds rather good (Although if he's known as the best Bomber..), maybe he's someone useful to look up to ^^
I dunno if I heard wrong, but I believe Fallout was the First Bomber in Spiral Knights.
There might have been one before him, who knows...
I'm not sure but I heard about a preview before the one in which Fallout joined, so there might have been one of them who had bombing gear.
(The ones recruited on that preview were avid Whirled players).
I'm not the best bomber; I don't know where you people keep getting this idea from.
Facts:
I have all the bombs (there are many people who have achieved this)
I created the Bombing guide and contributed heavily towards it, but I did not do ALL of it.
I created that thread which I don't really post in unless some awesomely new bomb is released or people aren't being answered by other bombers.
I wasn't the first one to use bombs at all. bombs were overpowered in the early previews and nearly everyone used them... I just used them last preview when most of the community were worrying about DAs and APs. My collection last preview only consisted of bomb trinkets mad bomber a heavy decon and a Nitronome compared to other people who owned the vaporizers and 5* Radiant Sun Shards.
All I did was promote bombing early after release.

Bombing with two slots means you will still need a few bombs to swap between. You'll want Crowd control, DPS and Status
condensing this to two slots; you'll want a Vortex (Electron will provide the status and the crowd control) Nitronome for soloing and Radiant Sun Shards for DPS and party safe bombing. But really it's what you feel comfortable with; get some cheap 2* bombs (have some decent CTR) like a blast, shard, charge and a few status (fire, freeze and poison). Just play around and find your groove. The best combo's tend to follow this

Not REALLY move to arsenal, cuz this is about strategic bombing, not specifically the bombs themselves.
What to do, how to do it and with what bomb. If it was just 'what bomb' then the arsenal would be where this should go.

I still have only two weapon slots. I'm about done with my "must have" collection of 5* gear, and then plan to save up and get more slots and enjoy the full love of being a Mad Bomber.
Until I got 4 and 5* bombs, I wasn't that thrilled with them. I love RSS, and the status bombs do ok at 4* but the radius boost at 5* is awesome. However RSS doesn't work in all situations, and I haven't found Master Blast or Spike Shower all that great, I find the kill rate on them is just too slow. I'm not sure if the 5* will make me change my mind or not. So, in many levels, I still pack a sword and pick one status bomb to help me out, depending on the level type. In FSC, and graveyards, and some other undead levels, I bring RSS and one status bomb to help me out. Haven't worked too much with the vortex yet, though I've seen them do great work in FSC and arenas.
A key question you have to answer yourself is this: do you want to be the damage dealer, and running solo? Or do you want to stick to groups? Because if group is your answer, I'd go with a vortex and status. if solo is your answer, you need damage, and it's up to you if you want a blast style, or prefer to make your RSS or sword do the work.

The worst bomber in spiral knights is a person who is not a bomber. :D

I dunno Jamoo, I think the worst bomber would have to be someone with a bomb. Like someone running around T2 or T3 with a firecracker saying "Isn't this awesome? It sets things on fire!! Best bomb evar!!1" And yeah, I've seen that person. Very annoying.

I believe Darkbrady has some video demonstrations of how to use bombs effectively. Might give you a clear idea of which bomb you can use as your main bomb based on the types of mobs you'll be facing.
