Was surprised this morning to find I had picked up a haze bomb at some point during a run the night before. I haven't had one since the alchemy paths for shiver/ash/etc. were changed. Anyone have experience with the stagger storm? Worth crafting this up to 5*?
Stagger Storm?
It's wonderful on PvP, due to Stun resist being uncommon. Death Mark someone as a Recon, quickly set down a SS and easily finish them off with a sword combo without getting hit.
PvE on the other hand, I feel it makes fighting monsters a bit wonky. Sometimes Stun messes up attack animations and you get hit without fully seeing it.
The other bombs already do a great job, and without the glitches stun may cause on some enemies. It's funny to see stunned enemies in lockdown, but I wouldnt craft this bomb unless you already made the other vaporizers first.
Thanks, all. The thought did occur to me that as a support bomb, it might be a good compliment to the new brandish charge attacks--wouldn't nerf fire/freeze, or compete with shock--but clearly that's an experiment for when I have some extra ce to burn.
I've been playing Lockdown with vaporizer bombs. I've been frustrated with how casually skolvers can ignore my Shivermist. And while many people get totally screwed by Voltaic Tempest, I've seen that shock resist is fairly common, especially for the really good players. so they too can throw a tea party inside my bomb, and have no concerns. while playing one of these very frustrating games, another guy was dropping Stagger Storms. He was my teammate, so i stayed inside the Stagger Storm putting down Shard bombs as quick as I could. Really upset the strikers on the other team, because if they wandered into the Storm, I could stick a bomb right in their face without too much worry of getting hurt by them.
When that guy was solo, though? Not so good for him. If he wandered out alone, someone with a gun would just blast him to bits. So it's a good bomb, but i agree probably not the one I would prioritize. If you have a lot of Krogmo coins and nothing to do, go ahead and get the recipes. but if you are strapped for resources in any way, I'd put it close to the bottom of the list (it's at the bottom of mine, right after Venom Veiler).
It works fine, except it can only be used as a support bomb. It's basically like Dead Space's stasis effect applied over a giant radius.
