So, I checked and did not see a thread about this: What do you think a the best PIECES of gear. This means individual armor, helmet, shield, sword, etc. (not working together as a set). Base it off usefulness and creativity/design :)

For me:
Sword: Cold Iron Vanquisher (I love its charge compared to the Leviathan, and it has an Awesome design)
Bomb: N/A I don't really use bombs, for now, so I can't really say xD
Handgun: Biohazard (The poison, charge, and it's fun to use)
Helmet: Divine Veil (Great for devilites, and it's a free halo!)
Armor: Grey Feather Mantle (Design is cool, and it has the elemental/normal)
Shield: Grey Owlite Shield (Elemental/Normal and the design called out for me before I even saw all the other players using it)

CIV looks badass. Low

CIV looks badass. Low damage.

Cats seem annoying to use, too much planning. Not well in groups.

Seraphic has a halo too. Or valk, whatever. Its useful in a gp set, with skolver coat.

I have nothing to say, good or bad, about magic sets. Vog has elemental, fire, and sword bonus.

Gos is probably the most badass looking shield. If you ignore the plate shield like part of it.

lol, everything is too dependant on situation, type of enemy,etc. There's no best gear.

Biohazard is the 2nd worst weapon on a devilish drugdery froe xample.
And divine veil will get you killed in a decon zone.

Different equipment is best

Different equipment is best for different situations. You need at least three pieces of each type of gear to have the best for every situation.

I second Veracna's statement. Bombing is fantastic, I only really go back to a swordsman set if Im doing a SL or I know greavers are coming up

You should TOTALLY get a leviathan blade. (Best sword (and not hammer) except for cold iron vanquisher (same damage))

Also, it has EXTREME knockback.

Im a swordman. Its more dangerous but faster instead of having to wait an hour for the gunners to shoot em down.

If your a swordman, i suggest you get a ironmight plate shield. They have awsome Normal defense,
great piercing defense and LOTS a' health.

@Rexerr: Levi has a higher damage than cold iron vanquisher. The knockback is also bad in teamplay. No, the ironmight is not good for a swordsmen. A barbarous thorn is, with the sword damage bonus.

Ok. Maybe im not 5* already but i know some people that are.
Knockback is the cue if you dont want to die AND it does more damage.
I use tempered calibur. When i die, all the other ones are always shooting with their guns trying to kill them but it takes 5 hours.
When i finnally get revived (or i revive myself) i use the charge attack and kill them in a couple seconds. (cause im swords)
and the ironmight plate has EXTREME normal defense and great piercing defense. Perfect for swordman

I know people who solo shadow

I know people who solo shadow lairs. Does that make me pro?

Knockback is the best thing for, wait for it, solos. It keeps enemies away from you. It also annoys teammates.

If you are charging a weapon, you are not dealing damage with it. There are a few weapons where charging will increase dps, but calibur is not one of them, unless you have great ctr uv's on it. Calibur charges hit up to 3 times. But the massive knockback usually throws enemies away before the 3rd hit can land.

You lack elemental shields. How do you think you'll block bullet hell puppies? No shadow either, kats will rip you apart. Kats, along with devilites and howlitzers.

Would you prefer a shield to add bonus damage to your swords, or just more defence?

I know im not pro, just saying...

I know im not pro. I solo T1 (rarely) and T2.
I only had plate shield. Did I survive? Well, yes I did. Plate doesnt have elemental. So? I survived (easily) I destroy the gun pupies in 3 swings
I crush the kats (too easy)

And, by the way, I'd like a shield with more defense. (Levi already has enough attack)

T1 has only normal attack.

T1 has only normal attack. That is why a plate shield is good for it. You don't suffer from any special damage attacks. T1 is neither an indicator of skill, nor a good place to test gear.

Damage bonus adds 7% more damage per damage bonus level. You can have a max of 8 bonus points. That's 56% more damage. You kill things in less time.

Besides, if you kill enemies too easily, why would you need defence.
