In our race to see who could complete their goal first: For you, to release the missions system; and for me, to beat the Royal Jelly using only piercing weapons. I'll admit you put up a good fight, taking it down to the wire with rolling the missions out on the test server, but to the victor go the spoils.

Attempt 1: Nope...
Attempt 2: No sir...
Attempt 3: Third time lucky!

Some amusing stats: With the gear I was running I could do a maximum of 13x15 (195) damage on a single charge. For comparison, each mini heals for approximately 57hp. The DBB does 24 damage each hit, but is luckily very effective at keeping the field clear of the minis. 2 mist revs and 1 health split were used during the battle, which took a remarkably short 4 minutes and 27 seconds from end to end.

As far as I know this is the first and only Royal Jelly kill with only piercing weapons (at least since the October patch, when his royal pinkness became a real slime). Props to Meowcennary for helping me out on the final attempt.

Oh man, you have way, way, waaay more patience than I do. Nice job, and I like the use of DBB. I might try that with Nitro if my party doesn't kill me for bringing it along and trolling them with it (I can never resist. Usually there's someone else who trolls me right back with DA charges and does it a lot better, too). It didn't take as long as I thought it would, but the poison helps a lot. I'm thinking that me and my Blitz would have a much, much harder time. This video does make me love my Biohazard a lot more, too.

BTW, 'Masacryl' is me on YT, in case you're wondering who this random subscriber is. Also, I love how every time you say "Hello everyone, my name is Nicoya and this is -dramatic voice- Spiral Knights!" it sounds the same. xD

@Myllakka Yeah, soloing with blitz would probably be impossible on phase 3 due to the rate of healing. If you got a team of 4 you might be able to do it. I was actually thinking for lulz I should put together a shiverblitz team: Have one person spamming shivermist around RJ to keep him pinned down and keep the minis away, and the other three unloading blitz charges. It'd be like doing Vanaduke, only much less sane.

I'm planning on doing some nitro-only runs of RJP and IMF, and a nitro/dbb FSC. I've already done IMF a few times as test runs and it's not too tricky. RJP might be a bit more troublesome just due to how fast the jellies move but I figure I can manage. FSC will get interesting on the boss fight no doubt.

@Mikehibbs Zinqf's proto RJ runs are pretty awesome, but he (necessarily) does most of the damage to RJ using vials and explosive blocks. The intention of my runs were to do the majority of damage with the piercing weapons themselves, with no vials and only incidental damage from the explosive blocks. (I can't exactly stop RJ from hitting the blocks now and then, but no attempt was made to lure him over them)

Has anyone noticed that rare monsters seem to be spawning more?
I experienced two rock jellies in two depths of FSC, and two Imposto's in three depths.

Nice job Nicoya! Is this really the first successful win at RJP in only Piercing? I heard it was suggested as a joke before, but is this really the ONLY JK Piercing kill? If so then I givez you 1 cookie.

There was a time where a solo in just 2* gear was considered a joke to suggest and 0* gear was considered flat out trolling. In fact, for anyone who hasn't seen it done yet...it still is.

@Xylka As far as I know, yeah. I've certainly never heard of anyone else doing it.

@Zinqf I didn't mean to diminish your runs at all, I'm a big fan of them. My point was more that we did different types of runs: Yours are "fresh off the crashsite" runs, mine are "doing it all wrong" runs.

There would have been no point in me using vials on my runs as you've already proven with yours that it's possible to basically take down RJ with just vials and a tiny bit of extra damage from the proto weapons.
