Best weapon vs. shrub?

Though they are by far the most numerous of any enemy in the clockworks, not much attention has been paid to dealing with that most dangerous of foes (honest!), the shrub. Like its cousins the lamp and the bush, the shrub is a stationary but stealthy enemy that would rather grind you down slowly than jump out and attack. If left unchecked, even a single shrub can:

• Deny you insignificant amounts of crowns, yet make you think that it's a lot because they drop fifties sometimes too, you know.
• Leave you half a pip short of full health before you get on the elevator to the terminal.
• Give you that nagging feeling that there's a thing around here that you haven't broken yet, which your gamer OCD will not allow!

Clearly, shrubs are foes to be reckoned with. I myself have recently been having trouble with shrubs, as I am a gunny/bomby type and typically lack an implement with which to effectively hack at them. I have heard that slow swords are effective against bunched shrubs, but have found this to be ineffective against the lurking, corner-dwelling shrubs in areas like Wolver Dens, since they can read my tactics and spread out to avoid my sweep.

So I put it to you: what is the best / your favorite weapon for slaughtering shrubs?

Indeed, as Rangerwill has

Indeed, as Rangerwill has said.

One noticeable difference with the bush and the shrub is that the bush can actually dodge your gunshots, those sneaky bastards. The bush himself is an easier monster, due to its higher stature, we can peg it with gun.

My weapon of choice is the spike shower, and barring that, the antigua line for bushes.

DBB is probably the most

DBB is probably the most efficient at dealing with shrubs and the occasional less important monster hiding amongst them, but the nitronome with its shorter fuse time would probably be slightly quicker.

i guess u mean the grass

i guess u mean the grass patches.

guns: the polaris is great at those (one of the few things the polaris is good for), just stand back and let the explosion handle it.

swords: any fast sword, i prefer the piercing swords since they got a wide first swing arc

+1 to Nicoya

DBB is the best and fastest way in the Spiral Knights Lawn Service Industry.

I offer premium services with a good CTR and large spikey blast when I go into wolver dens (not for the wolvers, just the foliage. Wolvers get the BTB and Venom Veiler.)

Nah, autogun line is best used for two other enemies in the clockworks - those colorful crystalline golems and the grey bulky brutes blocking your path.

I actually prefer the Cutter

I actually prefer the Cutter line as my main weapon in the never-ending war against Bushes and Shrubs(don't forget those deadly Blast Cubes too). One of their main army bases, the Jelly Farms, would have rows and columns with countless Shrubs and Bushes to assail the unlucky knight with. A Cutter line sword is pretty much what pulls our team through those hard-core stages.
Take heed this advice, good luck to fellow knights out there!

Get a toothpick

Toothpicks are bawss. Specially since those bushes usually get in Wolver Den levels... it should really be a Barb for best effect, thanks to the charge.

Blitz Needle is for people

Blitz Needle is for people who can't aim. The true experts of the topiary business will swear by the Sentenza.

I prefer the DBB

I tend to find that most of my landscaping needs are encountered in wolver dens. With the DBB I can mow the lawn, prune the shrubs, and when that is finished chase off some stray dogs.

@OP, i love your topic description.

anyways, for me, toothpick + shield cancel is the best way to deal with shrubs and weeds.

Why thank you. I worked very hard on it. It was very important that I make the gravity of the situation clear.

After much deliberation, I have decided that my DBB and Mad Gardener (also bomber) set is the best way to take care of shrubs that need taking care of... though I have to give the style award to a guy I ran with the other day who used Scissor Blades. He used them for nothing else but cutting shrubs. He is my new hero.

5* Brandishes?

When I get to the Jelly farm, I always take my acheron. Over there, it's also the perfect pruning tool! The long line of explosions will destroy any and almost every shrub in a single column, and has a high chance of carrying a jelly along the chain of bursts to add up to decent damage.

This is a swordsman speaking though, so I don't know what would be best for bombs. Mad bomber set and nitronome sounds pretty swag

Winmillion...

Cut down these foes with wind, the wind-errr... wide swing will cleave through swaths of the bushy fiends, while the projectile lets you also hit those coward trying to run away.

BTB+AP+DBB

Finally somebody understands my obsession (if it can break, it must break).

I think the perfect Garner loadout should include:

BTB/FF
AP/Sentenza
DBB/Nitronome

Preferably with Max ASI to the sword & gun and Max CTR to the bomb. It is important to have a diverse loadout to quickly & efficiently dispatch these heinous foes. AP for taking out singles at a distance, BTB for taking out isolated clumps & DBB for the heavy lifting of Wolver maps.
