Buy recipes with boss tokens

I don't know whether this has already been suggested and I apologize if it has, but I think it would be nice if players were able to use boss tokens to purchase recipes to upgrade boss-related equipment. For example 75 Jelly Gems might get you an Argent Peacemaker recipe (price subject to change). This proposal is coming from someone who just found a Supernova recipe for the first time after consistently running Tier 3 for 3-4 months.

There's a few things to note about how this would be implemented:

  • Tokens would be an additional option for obtaining recipes. They would still be randomly available from Basil and from the Auction House.
  • A purchased recipe (presumably from Brinks, the Token Trader) would be bound to the player who bought it, much in the same way that recipes from Sullivan are bound. This not only ensures that token-bought recipes have minimal impact on existing markets, it also makes the recipe seem like more of a personal reward for someone who has spent time grinding bosses for it.

No Need.

My opinion is.. no need to buy recipe with boss token. Just buy the already craft item. That would be easier. :)

Yeah...

@Twindoms
Even if you wanted to buy an already-crafted item, SOMEONE is going to have to have the recipe to craft it. What I'm proposing is an easier way for people to obtain that recipe.

No need for that. Recipes are

No need for that.

Recipes are crownsing, recipes are one of the rare ways with what F2P players can earn some extra money.

Yes they are meant to be random, yes they are meant to make players go into clockworks more often.

Herp derp...

I shamefully admit that I forgot to consider the fact that recipes are a crown sink when I came up with this idea. You're both right and I understand that crown sinks are needed to maintain some image of a balanced economy.

However, I feel like my idea still holds some merit. Since these recipes would be bound, they would be for personal use only. This means that a F2P (or P2P) player would still be able to find, buy, and sell Basil recipes. As for going into the clockworks more often, I think that's more a matter of token-recipe pricing than anything. People who want a Polaris could go grind RT like 25 times or something to get the recipe, or they could (using the same amount of energy for elevators) go down to a Tier 3 terminal 50 times in hopes of finding it. Assuming that there was actually a 1 in 50 chance of finding a Polaris recipe at terminals, the ability to buy a recipe with boss tokens would simply give people an option as to how they want to get the recipe.

I'm supposed to be writing an English paper right now, so my BS levels might be higher than usual (and sanity levels equally lower), but does what I said make sense at all?

OOO is already addressing the complaints from those who can't find their recipes with the new mission system. There is supposed to be a way to obtain items/recipes easier. I haven't played on the test server, so I don't know what they are doing, but this may have already been "implemented".
