New gremlins: We are screwed.......
I wanna see pics of these new gremlins. Can't find them in SpiralSpy, and it may be a little while before we get the levels cycled in.
... although I could try to blow through some of the missions looking for them. XD
There isn't a gremlin boss, as far as I know, just more gremlin types. Little ones. The Knockers showed up in the rsrc folder during the second patch. I'm hoping that the other little gremlins won't have such enormous goggles (they look like they have one of those Viewmaster things strapped to their faces).
What about the preview pic Nick had when he first introduced the brand-new missions!? Do I have to be disappointed? Meh. At least we have some of the things we asked for.
There is much more to come, stay tuned.
Yay! Nick is here to give positivity! Any promises? :D (BTW I love the update! A basis for many new things to come!)
I concur. Personally, I find the Ready room to be my favourite part of this patch. FOllowed by mission, then NPC talk screen then the new NPC styles.
Though not being able to exit from a conversation with an NPC gets a little annoying. Imagine talking to the Mother Sprite accidentally while being attacked by Slags? Yeack.
I expected missions to be a little more heavy on plot, or different from the usual playing.
Some of the "gathers this" and "go play these levels" come as a bit dull.
But I have only played the first ones. The toy one with the new "miniboss" was quite enjoyable.
I hope the latter ones turn out to be even more interesting and make use of the plot stuff to make unique new challenges.
1) I find it a shame people don't need to use Haven any more, this is a shame because for low level players. They need to make friends with people to show them the ropes, to give them any chance to complete the T2 bosses. Coming on for that no introduction to guilds. Seems to have kill the "Social" part of the game.
2) What is the point of Basil any more, the "Hall of heros" now provides access to all recipes (star limited), no need to run the clockworks, just go buy what you need. I so though the "Hall of Heroes" would have versions of players, kind of like a high score table for missions. Not just another ubershop, infact the missions seem to have introduced 3 NEW shops!
3) 3 rings introduce the Bazaar where you can by over priced objects and provides direct buy with CE access to items 500ce for a nightblade! however they never introduce the fact, that you can trade with other players, and the get stuff a lot cheaper from the Auction House 250-400ce!
4) Missions provide access to all content there is nothing special in the clockworks now. I had hopes there would be new bosses in mission, not just the same ones.
5) 3 Rings has go to a long lengths to stop people looping bosses and exploiting arenas, yet they have now provided direct access to exactly this. (Major crown fountain)
6) Using the clockworks to access bosses may require a CR charge however, access the same Boss via a mission direct does not, plus you dont; have to run the lower levels of the clockwork.
7) I WANT MY UV PROTO BOMB! Existing players cannot access the first mission and crossing the chasm so cannot get the special items :-(
8) Half the fun of the game was finding what you need, now everything is put right in front of you.
9) New changes are a Huge crown fountain, items being bought for CE introduces a CE sinks, it has had a large impact on the CE cost already.

However Love the login screen where you can see your knight close up, that looks REALLY great, makes accessories worth while, I only wish I could move the camera angle.
Logging in and seeing my knight up close in front of a console blew my mind, and the missions system and new maps I've experienced so far are great, but I am a bit irked, as a 4-star knight, that a lot of the equipment I grinded for and crafted when i was new to the game is now being offered for free, and now I am getting a lot of duplicates as I imagine most experienced knights are. The other thing about that is that the giveaway of those items drops their market value to effectively zero since everybody has them at their fingertips for nearly free. So we all have this basic set of stuff that many veteran players already crafted some of and there is no way to get rid of the duplicates since they are bound to us, and even if they weren't there is no demand for them so they would be impossible to sell.
I don't expect anything to be done about it, and it's not really meant for experienced players anyway. Just an observation.
you can vendor anything you don't want (to get rid of duplicates). However, I may have to go play T1 lockdown now that I have a formidable setup other than proto gear :-D
I'll probably vendor almost everything since I have no real need for them other than the lulz (like taking a slime slasher to RJP).
Most of the missions seemed a bit pointless to me. Why not let people walk to and find the NPC's themselves rather than insta teleporting them there? That's no mission. The clicking of dialog of almost pointless to read txt was a bit boring also as all the missions were pretty much the same... The prestige ladder thing could be quite cool, along with the prestige missions only if we knew what it was for? Some people are probably very hesitant when it comes to handing in a 4* item for no reason, besides gaining some points (in fact i know of a couple of people with well over 70kce saying there was no point).
The Arcade seems pretty much redundant now, as many people have stated. The auction house is now dead also and thats no real surprise as I would have thought most of the gear and weapons on there is bought by newer players and currently all the newer players will be redirected by the missions and unless they go out there way to find the auction house themselves I think they will just buy items from mission supply depot, rather than browsing the AH for the most expensive gun and lining some lucky persons pocket with a tonne of cr.
I would like to see the ready room removed!!! And players having to walk to where they want to go, be it in the arcade or w/e.
For me it just seems like a business decision to find the fastest possible way to get us to part with our ce without really thinking about the social impact of the game.
edit: In-fact remove AH listing fees as they are waaaay to high now stuff is not selling and just take a flat 15% cut.

Is that actually a mission? That's absurd. I know there's a mission where you essentially give away 2000cr but a 4* item is just too much.
I haven't gotten that far, but I can say with 100% certainty that I will not hand in any gear over 2*, but I'll probably hand in most mats up to 5* (not handing in the ones worth 2k or more)

Its one of the 2 daily prestige mission's for defenders that was available for today, and it was to hand in a Faust.
The prestige missions are different for everyone, even of the same level. While you are correct, Defenders have to turn in 4* items for prestige SOME days, it is not all days, and not even every other day, as my prestige quest for tomorrow is to also turn in mats, as it was today. I've even compared with some who had an arsenal turn in mission yesterday like me, I had to turn in a firotech alchemer, and and they had to turn in a spine cone.
So I guest the take away is yes, you have to turn in 4* stuff as a defender, no it isn't the same every day, and no, you don't always have to turn in mats. All that being said, no way would I turn in a 4* weapon for prestige, unless the reward was HUGE.
