So... I'm reading the forum, and seeing...

  • Stealth patched monsters
  • Bugged HUD elements
  • Bugs with using non-mission gates
  • Bugs with pre-Haven missions for those who have already reached Haven
  • Still having just about no say in the order you complete missions

Spending some time on the testing server left me with zero motivation to complete missions. And without the ability to actually use the Arcade and get to the gate you were aiming for... Nope. Still no motivation to complete missions that are way below my skill and gear level.
And then what's this about some stealth patched monsters? Oh, and HUD bugs? Such as not being able to drop vita? (My guildmaster has a health bar of over 20 in T3 without a vita. It's really nice of him to always give his vitapod to a guildmate who needs it more than him. OOO, Y U ruin this?)

So, is there any redeeming feature added that wasn't in the testing server that would make it worth it for me to even bother opening the Spiral Knights client before the next bug patch?

Hmm? I think that most of my guild would be sad if I quit.
Besides, I'm using my BTB as a lightning rod. Your argument is invalid.

What other monster tweak went by untold? As far as I know, it's just the zombie pounce (which I'm finding incredibly annoying in FSC now; It'll take a week or two to adjust playstyle).

You shoulda known that you'd have to do the missions over again if you did them once on the test server. You have no one to blame but yourself on that. Another thing to keep in mind is that T3 missions are slated to come out. So that should give you motivation... if you don't go and do them on the test server first. :p

I didn't even get to do the RJP mission before I lost access due to not spending enough...
Even so, just the fact that I don't even so much as have the option to do IMF before RJP... Just in general the fact that I'm running a level not because the playerbase choose the stratum theme but rather because OOO specifically picked the level out, that just kind of demotivates me. I just don't feel like running something if there's no good explanation WHY I should run it, or why I should be running this level instead of that one.

Don't run it? I find that the mission is basically a huge tutorial for everything ingame, although the benefits of doing the missions outweigh gate diving.

Waiting out for a bug patch is a perfectly legitimate way to avoid the bugs. No need to play a game that is not enjoyable.

^ I agree. It is a good (...or just a better) way of dealing with new people. Follow missions and read. Better landing than just throwing them in Haven and have them beg for better equipment. Some people already completed them. Rank missions right now only go up to Roarmulus Twins, about half way through the entire gameplay, arguably.

I assume you clicked right through the lore. You're attacking the RJ first because that's what we've heard about first. We do one, then the other. That's how a story works. It's linear by nature. It also doesn't help how you'll have to do both to continue on to T3 missions anyway, so who cares if you do one before the other. Missions are the campaign of Spiral Knights, while the Arcade is the faffing about bit.

I'm just gonna assume you're the kind of person that hates the hell out of linear experiences (and that is fine). Missions are linear, and I highly doubt they'll change. Expecting anything else out of them is like expecting the scorpion to not sting you, however. If you bring up branching paths, I will stab you. Those will always be inferior to linear things for various reasons.

Not to mention that if you REALLY want to do the twins, you can still go through the arcade...

True, but you have to prepare for that, no? Missions help the new guy to get there. You can speed through, yeah, but this gives a little more experience to new comers I guess...

You only have to do them in

You only have to do them in order once. From there on you can pick whatever you want to do any time you like.

Want to grind a T2 jelly arena over and over until the end of time? There's a mission for that.
