Three panel soul Ian? MAC HALL IAN? Was the art lead for spiral knights?!
I used to read his comics all the time! Is this a true thing?
And if so, why haven't we all run into C'thulhu yet?

If I recall correctly, he's the one responsible for the spectres, most equipment, all of the UI art and the jellies. Among other things. =P
Yes, he is. That's why the visuals are made of sheer unmitigated awesome.
Thats fantastic! He did a phenomenal job too!
Mr. Mcconville, thanks for finally giving me something to play besides hacked PSO servers! (now make the guns better! ;-P)
He mostly stealth watches people from the sidelines.

Also this.
Can't believe I didn't see it sooner
God, I was wondering why the art sucked.
Nerds.
I thought this thread was about how SK was conning people out of their game. So you put "Mc", "con", and "ville" together to make "Mcconville". I also thought I was missing a reference of some sort with "Ian".
I'M SO SORRY I WAS WRONG FORGIVE ME FOR ASSUMING THINGS LIKE THAT AND MAKING FUN OF IAN'S LAST NAME OTZ
Figures as soon as started posting about the game on the main page is when I hadn't been reading it. But not that I know, it really does look like his design. This is awesome. Brawler was good to kill time with, and I am really digging this game so far, especially the character designs.
i'm honestly not sure whether i'd enjoy the game as much as i do it if weren't for the art and design, lol, and i actually first heard about it from "three panel soul".
seeing a jelly, then having a circuit in the back of my head go 'ping!' and going and pulling up the jelly 3PS comic.
...And that's when I realized just how long they've been working on this game.
Alternatively, there's a news article on the front page of the site: "4 April 2011: After nearly four years of development..."
I came here through Penny Arcade [despite being a long-time on-off reader of MacHall and 3PS] and didn't have my epiphany moment until somebody mentioned Cthulu.
I was directed to this game by a post on Three Panel Soul, so I knew as soon as I arrived it was his work. I've met him in person, he is a great guy, :3.
*is a total nerd and got his artbook signed by him*
His art is the reason I started (and keep) playing this game. Well, that and my easy addiction to skinner box dynamics. Still, at least the box is pretty?
I saw the 'four years' newspost and had to go do a search to confirm it in my head, because there was a moment of disbelief mixed in there.
Im here only and only because of Ian.
Up until now ive been a FPS only gamer, but being a reader (and fan) of McHall since early on i just couldnt resist trying out his game, so far, AWESOME, cant wait to get competitive and start bashing skulls in pvp :).
But for everyone's edification: http://threepanelsoul.com/2011/03/22/doodle-on-the-enemy/
Soft bodies are indeed great.
I'd say the jellies are almost as iconic as the slimes from DQ now.
you never knew? he even has a few characters in the game, cherub and c'thulhu i think
