I currently have this gear regularly equipped:

Callahan, blackhawk, silversix

My question is, is there a suggestion how to optimize this set a little better?

Max Damage and CTR on all of the best charge attack swords in the game with a supplementary long range weapon that can help you knockback/zone and moderately damage every mobile enemy in the game.
Attack speed is pretty irrelevant on everything but the DA, but you shouldn't be using anything besides the second swing to hit things, since the first swing will just get you smacked in the face most of the time.
I agree with Demonicsothe on the trinkets. For the shield, if you want to expand, the general advice is : owlite for elemental, crest for shadow, and VPS if you want a normal defense shield.
You should drop the Callahan and replace Levi by a piercing sword. Callahan is rather bad compared to a piercing sword and other guns, and Levi is useless once you have the 3 damage types. Use silversix over blackhawk as a side-arm, because turrets are all weak or neutral to elemental. Only use blackhawk if you are sure you'll only run into polyps.
As for the brandish vs sealed sword, you decide, there are tons of threads talking about it (btw, I totally disagree with Shoebox stance on this subject).
Yeah I would have to whole heatedly disagree with the box as well when it comes to ASI. ASI is awesome everywhere on everything (well not bombs, but that is not an option either). I love ASI on 3 swing swords & take much less damage when I have it because I can finish my swing and get my shield up faster. [redacted rant]

I largely agree with the other posters. You want a piercing sword, an elemental sword, and a shadow sword; there is no reason then to carry a normal sword. If you really want to carry a gun, then consider an elemental gun. I go for CTR UVs on my swords, and get ASI and damage bonuses from armor and trinkets. (I recommend offensive trinkets for PvE.) Get a quick strike so you'll have vh asi and max damage bonus with the shield on.
Getting a shield for other 2 damage types would be of great use, if you find yourself taking a lot of hits on the shield.
Get a piercing sword, callahan is fun to use and all, but very lacking in both damage and utility.
