Joining a Party in Missions.

If I join when starting a mission(in the tab), would I join a deployed party or one at the Lobby?

You might join already deployed parties, but only on those that just started and are not far into it.
Lobby.
If you somehow, either through invite or join friend/guild option enter a mission without going down from lobby, you won't get the credit for the mission.
