Trojans and Slag guards give me really, really bad trouble cause I tend to never see them until I get slammed into the ground and become a bloody pulp of a bomber.

Best counters?

Move

Move...

Yeah...

You either constantly keep them on screen, or you just keep moving. At the same time, you have to kinda remember with the back of your mind where each one is (Trojan or Slag Guard). Then, stay on your toes and expect them to charge any moment.

The best solution is to have allies with situational awareness though, but that's just getting other people to do your job.

Nyan nyan nyan nyan....

Yeah, pretty much what Traevelliath said, and if it doesn't work, well, it eventually will with enough practice and experience lol....I also suggest maybe dodging early or running to the bottom or side of the screen, if possible, to get a better camera angle.

For trojans

Remember where they will spawn at, deploy freeze bomb before they show up, circle to the opposite side so they get frozen, circle back and kill them on the spot.

Also, stay away from corners.

Also, stay away from corners. They have a bad habit of charging and pinning you to a corner, attacking until you die (mostly true for trojans).

In which case, you pull out your proto gun, plink his shield a few times, and walk out.
