Long ago I bought the Calibur recipes from 2* to 4* so I could have a handy normal damage support sword to use when I switch to playing as a gunner or bomber. Well guess what, I found out that the missions just gave me the Calibur, Tempered Calibur, and Ascended Calibur recipes. Whoop-de-do, fifteen thousand crowns down the drain.
Anyone feel "cheated" out of some money?
meh. you guys got your items at the normal price and now you get a bunch of free recipes on top of it. better than no rewards, right? you didnt lose any money, and now you can sell recipes for profit! yay!
Same here. Got my Calibur from square one all the way to Ascended, then got free recipes!?
That and the Emberbreak set recipes I got, the Hot edge one, and a free Brandish when I already have the one Brandish I wanted.
EDIT: Oops, too slow.
If you think about it, you DO lose money. You get the recipes free, when you paid 1000+4000+10000=15000cr for the ones you already have, and can only get maybe a hundred or so cr back from reselling the recipes to a vendor.
I sold Tempered Calibur recipe to a vendor for 10 crowns (worth about 5 seconds of game time), where's the profit?
You think that's bad? I'm an avid collector of "standard issue" equipment so I've bought everything from Kozma: Sword, shield, bomb, gun, armor, and helmet, all 2* to 5*.
Then missions came around.
That's like 90,000 crowns down the drain.
This stuff happens. I don't get too hung up over it.
It's just rows of numbers in a database, after all.
That's just the nature of a market... and as Nicoya-Kitty said, in an online game that is constantly developing and changing, these things happen.
If you buy a car today for $10,000, then find out a year from now it is only $5,000, you can't go demanding for money back. It's just the way market systems work.
It's possible for me to make back that money in a day, but I could have actually bought other recipes with 15k cr.

..Would you please listen to what the other players have said to you in this thread?
It's no use complaining, you know.
What are you complaining about? That you can now invite a friend and he can just go through the missions and earn the starting equipment and all the recipes to upgrade it all the way to 4* (5* in the future for sure)? Seriously? Is crowns all you can see? Nothing else?
getting some recipes for free doesnt mean you LOST anything. you paid what was the normal price before the mission patch. sure, its not an optimal deal now that they're free, but saying you lost money is an outright lie. the only way you'd lose money is if you bought a recipe to resell it.. which is unlikely. if all of the recipes in SK were made free all of a sudden does that mean we'll all be poor now? no, there just happens to be a better deal now. be happy with what you get and npc the duplicates.
cactuscat has the right idea.
Serves people right for trying to make their money off reselling recipes in the AH.
I would care more if I only recently got my Caliburs, I have two of the older Caliburs in the game, I think.
Having lost out on something is a crappy feeling. OP is complaining about that crappy feeling--not demanding that the feature be changed back, claiming that OOO screwed up, etc.
It's like when your flight gets delayed because of bad weather. Sure, that's a great reason to delay the flight, but you're probably still going to be unhappy and want to complain to someone about it.
You lost nothing.
buying said recipes allowed you to craft those items long before this release. You paid for the opportunity to use those items for a longer period of time. It really gets on my nerves when people complain about price reductions when they fail to see the benefits they gained by purchasing early. It is your own fault that you made a purchase you didn't really value. The same exact thing happens with almost every piece of technology. I wouldn't cry because I bought a DVD player for $1k (I didn't really, but I know people who did) when you can buy them for $20 now. The high price was for the opportunity to use it before others.
If you are so afraid of paying more than someone else, then you need to hold out until there are price reductions, but you'll never know when the lowest one is, so you should keep holding out forever.
Technically it's not a price reduction, they literally just handed out the recipes to anyone who completed the missions.
Oh hey, I bought the recipes when it was 4* 15,000 crowns and 5* 45,000 crowns a while ago. :V
Made me a bit mad after seeing you're getting these recipes now for free where I first wasted lots and lots of Crowns earlier.
I'm OK with the turn of events. I might have purchased some of the recipes that are now given out for free but it's not as if I regret it. I purchased them because at the time I felt it was the right thing to do. Even though I don't even use any of the regular equipment anymore I still feel fine about this.
Just curious do they give you a leviathan blade recipe for free? Or a nitronome recipe?
Try not to spoil too much of the missions for me, just want to know so i can save some money >.<
thanks
Not for now, but I supose they will once they finish the system. As of now, last mission gives you T3 acces along with 4* recipes only.
5* recipes are not yet available from missions or Hall of Heroes. Perhaps they will come with T3 missions, perhaps they won't.
Hehe....good thing I barely did missions yet. Good to know what awaits. Though u do agree.....if you have the recipe learned and you get a free new bound one, it's pretty much worthless.
Yeah, about that... I made a nitronome about a week before this patch happened... I felt a bit cheated as I vendor-ed the recipes that I had worked so hard for the week before.
