So i have a spine cone and a brandish. Thinking about bringing them both to 5* as a loadout. So which brandish line goes best with DBB?
Right now i'm looking at either voltege or combuster

DBB is piercing and brandish are either elemental or shadow. Every brandish line will be alright with DBB, it comes down to which damage type you prefer to have first (elemental or shadow) and if you choose elemental, which status you prefer to have (freeze/shock/fire).
On those status, note that freeze is not always desirable and don't do any damage unless you let the mob alone until the end of the freeze, voltedge is harder to have because of krogmo coins, and combuster fire doesn't work on the most end-game farmed instance, FSC (but combuster is still a very good weapon there, don't get me wrong).
You may want to expand to have a third weapon to cover all damage type (even if you stay on 2 slots).
Edit : I don't agree with Metagenic. As a DBB user, I prefer mob not to be freezed so they can follow me in the bomb radius. Also, when using DBB, well, I use DBB and don't bother using any other weapon, to maximise my dps (switching weapon as a time cost and few weapons equal DBB on piercing-weak packs of mobs). For me, you are not going to do some combo with those 2 weapons.
If you are looking for a cool combo, look at the vortex + brandish one (there is an old thread on it, and a recent one with a video, currently on first page). But by doing that you'll have some blind spots in your arsenal if you only do those 2 weapons (contrary to a DBB + brandish loadout, which have bonus damage against 4 family and neutral against the 2 others).
Combuster does just fine in FSC. I prefer it to the Glacius, because the Glacius ruins my clumping of mobs by making some stick to the floor while the others go sailing (*note complaint comes from using other Brandishes while teammate use Glacius). I don't feel any reduced damage on the Combuster because I don't let things live long enough to burn to death anyway. I think I like the Voltedge the best though because it seems to clump monsters better then others (shock pauses them & spreads through them).
Back to what Fradow was getting at. Do you need Elemental? or Shadow? (Answer both). If you are using DBB on Beast levels shadow would be more helpful (beasts are weak strong to Elemental). If you are dong an arena there are sure to be constructs so Elemental is very handy. I would also agree that you are going to need to cover Piercing, Elemental, and Shadow so no single non-normal weapon will perfectly complement DBB (it will take 2).
For my money the DBB is not really worth it unless you are in bombing gear with CTR & DMG maxed. Otherwise the BTB is going to get the job done much quicker, but that's just how I feel about it.
DBB Can handle fiends, beasts, undead, and gremlins all fairly well. I think it pairs best with a elemental sword (probably combuster), since that will handle constructs, undead, slimes, and fiends.
For the two monsters that you can only do neutral damage to (gremlins and jellies), DBB knocks down gremlins, so it can even though that is neutral damage it works really well. I find Jellies to be some of the easiest monsters in the game, and I often use my combuster on them even though I have an acheron. The fire infliction will make up for the lack of shadow damage.
I think with those 2 weapons the only major problems might be multiple gremlin mendors. If you can't DPS them fast enough they can revive each other and go in their force bubbles. I haven't really messed with the DBB in arenas (where you are likely to meet two T3 menders) so I'm not sure.
As for DBB vs BTB, yea, the BTB will way outdo the DBB for single targets, but the DBB provides knockdown and can easily hit 6-7 targets at once (wolver den "arena" spawn you can hit all of them at once if you know where it is). The knockdown will give your teammates free reign to slaughter everything that is there. Bomb DMG bonus would really help, but I think it is a useful bomb and I'm considering taking it to the Shadow lairs specifically for the knockdown, but I probably won't because it would have to replace my Magma Driver which I think is going to be too critical.
@Nordlead I'm pretty sure gremlins and undeads won't be knocked down by DBB in Shadow Lair, as FSC zombies are already not knocked down by DBB (because not enough damage). Not sure for fiends and beasts, but there is no fiends there anyway, and beasts are now ultra easy since they don't turn anymore.
About freeze, if you're going with Glacius, you're better off leaving the enemies you freeze alone and using that time to focus on others. If you use DBB and break the ice, you're wasting the Strong Freeze.
Also, in terms of neutral enemies (such as zombies), I generally get just as much damage in one hit using DBB vs using an elemental weapon like Glacius. It does less per enemy, but hits so many that it doen't matter if it isn't "super effective".
Glacius. You freeze the enemies, then you start dropping the bomb. There you go.
