I know there are a dozen of threads about this. But I have not seen anyone come up with this idea yet, and the more I think of it, the more I like it.

The idea: a Bulletin board!!

How it should work!

Selling:
1. Simply walk up to a bulletin board and activate it.
2. Click the "Post an offer"-button.
3. Choose an item and set a Price (Cr or CE). If it is a stack, i.e mats, the price is for one of them.
4. Press the "post the offer"-button.
5. Done!

Buying:
1. Simply walk up to a bulletin board and activate it.
2. Look through the endless of lines of sell notes (each note is one line), and click the one you like.
3. Press the buy button. If it is a stack, i.e mats, enter the wanted quantity.
4. Done

With this, people can put there stuff for sale and still go down and crawl in the dungeons.
And a lot of WTS and WTB will go away from the chat, since I have a hard time believing that people actually enjoy trading by chat..

What do you think?

Hmm...

I think those blue shards are ridiculously over-priced

So in your image example,

So in your image example, would one be able to click on any of those lines, and be directed to a separate page (perhaps also with a "Are you sure this is the one you wanted?" at the top or something) where the buy button is?

In any case, I wasn't really convinced until I saw the image you posted. I was thinking "A bulletin board system, you mean like the forums but in-game? That sounds totally lame and not worth it" but then I saw your picture and it made a LOT more sense, lol.

Also, would you be able to choose which form of currency you want to buy with? Like, would you be able to only see crown offers if you hit like, a checkbox or something? And that leads me to another question- would the people posting the mats be able to set both a crown price and a CE price?

Seems like you have a great idea, but it's a bit rough right now. :)

hmm.. heh, I forgot about the buy button.. But why not just click the price, "are you sure?" box appears with a "yes" and a "no" button.. if there are more than one item on that note, a "enter quantity" should appear before that.

I modified the picture:

(I updated image in OP)

About the prices, a checkbox for what kind of currency was something I never thought of. And it is a great idea.
If the checkbox above the Cr prizes is filled, the list shows all items you can buy for Cr, the same for CE obviously..
And yeah, let sellers put Cr or CE price or both..

It's rough couse I have never done anything like this, and therefore I posted it so I can get some help shaping it :D

Eh, I pretty much figured

Eh, I pretty much figured this was the idea for the auction house.

I based that off of Dead Frontier.

[ignore the trade zone part]

You can search for whatever you want in a simple field.
In this example, I was looking for 9mm (handgun bullets).
Everything is ordered by price (just like our current energy market). Cheapest first (for sellers). And all you have to do is have the money and you can instantly buy it. In cases where there are differing item amounts, the overall cheapest is displayed first relevative to the amount per item.
As you see "Air Jester" is selling 477 bullets for $300 which is $0.62 each,
it's still displayed before "sADE918's" price of $40 since he's only selling 49 bullets which is $0.82 each.

In keeping with the spirit of the game however, I feel names should probably be excluded just like with energy, no one really needs to know who they are buying from since it makes people focus on other things besides the lowest price.

There is one issue though, Dead Frontier, only uses cash, here we have two forms of currency. Personally, I think dealing with crowns only at least for public sales are best. But perhaps like you posted, we could have tabs for energy prices too.

Yeah.. maybe a search should

Yeah.. maybe a search should be added.. just like the ones in every other item list in the game :D
Besides that my trade sugestion and the one in Dead Frontier are very similar..

It reminds me somewhat of the

It reminds me somewhat of the system Guild Wars uses for materials as well, which is very similar to the current energy system and I think quite good.
