Would This be Against the ToS?

I want to attempt writing a Python script that edits the Windows registry to reset the settings for Spiral Knights back to their default state for troubleshooting purposes, however after checking the Terms of Service I found this:

"You agree not to do any of the following prohibited actions: ... modify any files or use any game hacking/altering/cheating software or tools, including scripting or macroing software, or attempt to disassemble the game client and/or decipher the data transmissions between Spiral Knights' client and server. These activities will result in immediate termination of the Player's Account and may subject you to civil and/or criminal liability."

I'm not sure if the registry entries fall under the category "any files". Could anyone clarify this for me? Thank you in advance.

(Note to those who would like to run the script: don't get your hopes up. I'm not very good at scripting and I'm not sure the script will even work if I run it through cx_Freeze.)

If you're just trying to troubleshoot a problem...

Surely there's a file for your settings you could just delete?

I'm not troubleshooting a problem I have, I'm trying to write a script for people who do have problems. And besides that, deleting keys and values from the registry tends to make things crash.

I wasn't talking about deleting registries

I was talking about most games have a file or two that house the game settings, so if you're trying to just reset the setting all a person has to do is delete those files.

Spiral Knights creates

Spiral Knights creates registry entries for its settings, edits those entries when you change its settings, and then reads those entries when it needs them. They are not stored in a .txt file or a .conf file.

It's your registry of your computer and not a game file.
At least that's how I see it.

Unless you can somehow hack the game with commands there
