Gremlin Knockers...

...are really overpowered and need a nerf extremely badly to make the Gremlin Grounds levels bearable by any stretch of the imagination.

Here's a list of reasons why:

- Their melee attacks are so powerful they create explosions when they hit the ground, something that can't be done with any single sword except the Brandish line and arguably the Triglav. Their ones can't even be used by players!
- Their melee attacks are so powerful that they can send themselves FLYING back from backlash!
- In terms of the standard-difficulty mobs in the game they have one of the highest HP-to-body-mass ratios ever. How is that fair?!
- The little punks can dual wield! They're dealing double damage of what they're supposed to due to their wands of doom being able to be combined into a status effect. And besides, they're naturally so powerful that they can break game mechanics - dual wielding isn't supposed to exist!
- Due to the chance that their attacks can backfire they're extremely unpredictable and oftentimes I've gotten hit out of the blue by them because I didn't know whether they'd create a small or big explosion, meaning that they have too many attack types with absolutely no way to differentiate between them.
- They're so stupidly light that they're impossible to combo, because they get knocked back too far to follow up! And if you do manage a combo on them and kill them, there's always like twenty more who are flying everywhere who you can't land a hit on.
- They're always accompanied by Menders, meaning that their only true weaknesses are offset by massive healing!
- Their attacks execute so suddenly and hit with such lightning speed that I could clearly envision myself being rocked off my shocks (pardon the pun) when a massive number of Gremlin Jumpers decide to stagger their attacks and kill me, sending all encounters with them into a harrowing experience of not trying to get hit.
- They are just too darn cute, making many players have to pause for ages before mustering up the courage to attack them.
- When they first came out, every single one of them was invisible and generated huge amounts of lag when you walked into their radius, but they could still hit you! That's a small nerf, but they need more!
- They lend themselves to really bad and corny knock-knock jokes, causing many IRL to die from the sheer terribleness of them.

As you can clearly see based on this flawless and uncounterable logic, Gremlin Knockers are the most deadly opponents in the game, far outpacing even Lord Vanaduke for title of most feared monster nemesis in the game. How can you even fight against them?! They have so many strengths and so few weaknesses that it's a wonder they haven't experienced an overflow error and become pathetic by now!

(There have been previous topics suggesting that they need a nerf, but this one is DEAD SERIOUS and adds to the growing avalanche of topics wanting them to be brought down to Earth.)

How do you defeat the Knockers, the hardest enemies in the game, and do you agree that these hated foes need the biggest nerf ever?!

I'm not sure if you're actually serious or not...I'm going to assume you did this just to make Asukalan upset.

OMFG INORITE???!!!!?!?!?!?!?

Ulmyr you are a man/woman/person of many words, but surely this post holds the best of them. I commend you as a fellow forum poster and if I knew you in real life there's no reason I wouldn't be kneeling at your feet.

@Sev
WOW SRS???!?!?! I can't believe you would doubt the pristine honesty of this post. Clearly you haven't played this game at all or you'd realize how much sense this post makes. Ordinarily I'd tend to agree with you, but this is a special circumstance in which I can't find any sense in what you're saying :)

Gremlin Knockers are the worst thing since...anything, really. You said that were previous thread about this, but I wasn't able to find any - to my utmost surprise! These guys are basically invincible and they can kill you instantly if you let them. +1 for nerfing the crap out of these little buggers, much in the same way they scare the crap out of me every time I see one.

BTW, the way the can so bravely just walk up to you and blow themselves up in your face is so noble! I wish I could be a Gremlin Knocker. I'd have it all going for me - looks, power, and a killer personality.

BTW, that last part was kind of a -1 to Wuvvums because having these guys as pets would make me jealous and piss me off even more.

EDIT: I added a few question marks and exclamation points to the title of this post because this issue is urgent and needs to be addressed NOW!!!

I'm just going to assume that was sarcasm too...Gremlin Knockers are the easiest thing to kill since Zombies were last nerfed..

Seeing as I've never been to Gremlin Grounds, I can't decide. But seeing as what Sev says, ima mark this as a troll post.

Don't instigate flame wars guys.

Actually...

...the first time I saw a Knocker explode, I was quite taken aback. As the patch notes say, though, these guys CAN get a bit troublesome if you let them swarm you, but I honestly find them pretty fun to fight. Last word - I haven't really kept track, but the last time I got hit by a Knocker, I seem to recall it actually taking out a fair chunk of health. I'm not calling for a nerf here, but that's not to say these guys can't do a bit of damage.

@Schattentag:

They are quite slow to attack still, and it surprised me as well. The lil bugger walked up to me and BOOM blew itself away. I was like...what was that? I quickly realized it was the short stack.

They likely do Elemental Damage (Haven't checked the wiki, assuming based on their attack), so if you're not geared accordingly (Since you might not have Elemental Defense in a Gremlin Ground stage...although they do split Elemental now), they'll probably hurt a bit.

You either have to be using a gun with no knockback and don't know how to shield or get swarmed by them for them to truly become a threat. Come to think of it, they're probably not a threat unless they're mixed with another mob. By themselves they're too slow I think.

That aside, now that I'm no longer scared by your post (I almost thought you were serious), I find it a bit humorous. OPs post still scares me though...

@Severage

I think at the time I was probably using a Dragon Scale Helm and a Heavy Demo Suit, so I did have some elemental defense (and yeah, I think ever since the Mission update gremlins do split elemental/normal). However, thinking about it now, I may have been poisoned when I got hit, accounting for a bit of extra damage taken. I was also probably playing around with either my Khorovod or Shadow Driver, so something slow or something without knockback. If anything, I think it was probably me going after a mender or something after the Knocker had already started an attack, then ending up back in the range of the Knocker by the time I finished with the mender.

You can easily kill groups of them with a 2 hit combo from a Gran faust, an Acheron charge, or you can pick 'em off with a sentenza (if you can't then put auto lock on). They do big damage if they hit you, but their attack "wind up" is so slow, you can just move out of the way or block. I cannot see why people have such a problem with them.

I don't recall ever having taken damage from them, aside from that one time I was comboing them, and my client froze. When it rebooted I was dead.

That was embarrassing. If it froze just a second later, I wouldn't have to feel embarrassed.
