My problem is the large

Current Shadow Key system and
Current Shadow Key system and the recently announced pay to play only accessable content with Expansion Missions. If I have to say one, the last one.
Edit: Oh, it is funny it didn't come to my head, but also... Prestige Missions current "supply" missions, which can ask anything even Energy Pack items or 4* items. But that would be my 3rd place option.
3 - Daily Prestige "supply" missions.
2 - Shadow Key current system.
1 - Future pay to play only Expansion Missions.

What's annoying?
1. Striker-Gunners in PvP vs. Recons (get back here you Polagis spammer! That's right, you! No, I can't outrun you. Come back and taste my faust you lousy- oh look, I'm dead).
2. Beggars. CR PLOX CR PLOX CR PLOX RANDOM TRADE
Me: ....*insert large amount of CE here, calmly go to stir the big pot of soup*
3. Random Latency
Sometimes I'm at 3 bars and the run freezes entirely (happens in FSC and IMF mainly. When that happens I hole up in a corner and usually end up only a few pips short of health. It's worse when solo ^^)

The devs not making enough
The devs not making enough new content/enemies, and the underlying feeling of greed that stems from the constant stream of ce promotions and costly new content that takes forever to come out, eg unbinding, shadow lairs, this new P2P thing...

My top 3 annoyances:1. Very
My top 3 annoyances:
1. Very bad players who argue with common knowledge (such as STOP USING SHADOW WEAPONS ON FIENDS, or USE SOMETHING BESIDES KOZMA RECIPE GEAR)
2. People who brag about all their gear, but all they did was dish out 100 bucks and do no work at all (as a side effect, they die a lot because they suck at the game)
3. LAAAG. I can not BELIEVE how bad the lag can still be, especially in IMF. I've pretty much been forced to stay on low settings for weeks now.
Honorable mention goes to the following:
1. People who I friend that stop playing the game completely a month later
2. People who either refuse to get steam or deliberately disable voice chat just because of one or two people, so I have to stand there getting hit while I'm trying to type a message to them.
2.a People who have a mic, but ignore everyone and have kids or music or game sounds blasting from the background.
3. lazy-ass impatient beggars
oh and btw:
@Thimol YES! In fact, I wish there was a little thing under the minimap that showed the current next depth and current depth AT ALL TIMES.
@metagenic once you craft your first item, you should never be heating that many at once...
@aumir I still haven;'t done a single shadow lair, and I've had the game since june X(. I'm fine with supply missions though, as long as I don't ahve to buy anything extra. Or do you mean the "Supply kits"? Prestige is kinda pointless.
@alynn are you saying you're annoyed that people SAY that callahan sucks? Because there's no way it does. It's the best gun against devilites and wolvers. Plus there are FAR worse weapons that need work, like Big Angry Bomb.

That's another thing, if all three other players agree, you should be able to kick the leader like in alien swarm. It's annoying when he goes AFK and you're stuck somewhere like FSC where going solo isn't really an option.

.. what's wrong with using Kozma gear? Some of it is really nice, and you don't have to hunt around for the 5-star recipes.

Get skype or teamspeak. I just can't stand the in-game mic system; it's so laggy and there's almost always some feedback that I never hear in my other programs. I also don't really like voice chatting with strangers at times.

I totally have to agree with number 2. I've met many players, who are like "Hahaha, your gear sucks - it's a bad combination - you are not 5* still? - you don't have this or that" and stuff like that. Oh I HATE THAT, ruins the game for me. Yeah, sure, pay for all of it, suck at the game, but have smart comments about it. Unlike you, I'm poor and haven't paid for a single thing in this game, but don't suck and am nice :) Or at least people say so....
Well, since that is not the games fault itself, I would also like a shortcut button for the Gate Map or something like that.

Also why should I use an external program when SK has its own perfectly good chat? The game lags badly enough without dicking with unnecessary junk in the background. Plus I'm not going to ask every random person I join if they have skype.

THE MOST ANNOYING THINGS
When I first started doing RJP (before it was patched) he was the most annoying hateful thing ever, from my point of view.
Other things that annoy me:
-weird slowdown/lag. I don't know if it's the connection or my PC, but it's HORRIBLE- Whether it manifests as "getting hit by things that you logically should not be getting hit by" or "slow-motion stop-frame lumber-clubbing" or "Mecha Knight gang-bang" or "You're trying to walk to X? well that's too bad! you're actually supposed to be going THERE *sudden lag-teleport to other side of room*"
-buying CE via the player market can be a total [disagreeable person] sometimes.
-I can only get 250 friends!?
-Too much gambling!

When I'm trying to be funny, and they mistake that for weird, and I watch them as they slowly back away when they realized, they must be talking to a crazy person. Actually, no wait...that's hilarious, and it's never happened before.
Also, do you EVER get 250 true face-to-face friends in your lifetime? That's way easier to manage the several thousand. That would be torture.
Also, having to beg because I played too much and need energy. I give stuff to people. It's just a bit annoying. I'd like to proceed, but oh well...

I would have to say my #1 most annoying thing is beggars, particularly those who don't know a word of English. :s Hey, sometimes I'll help someone out who says "I'm saving up for a ___, does anyone feel like helping out?", because I'm all too familiar with the state of the Spiral Knights economy and how frustrating it can be to slowly raise CE and Crowns without paying cash, and if I see a player who's asking for help but is still willing to put in the effort, yeah I'll help out. It's the 8-year-olds I can't stand. x_x You know which ones.
I don't mind bad players in the Clockworks, as long as they're trying their best or are willing to learn. Once again it's the kids who don't even know how to speak English that always screw me up for good. I feel like I'm trying to teach a fish how to use guns or whatever properly. v_v Ugh.
Also, Wuvvums and Mygmar, that is awesome. XDD I'm not laughing at your plight, I just think that's hilarious! I've been mistaken for a girl on other websites before because of my effeminite username, and now when that happens I lead them along just to screw with their heads. It baffles me to imagine just what's going on in their thoughts and why they feel the need to do that. 8D
Well... granted the pigtails are kinda hot. ^^ But I think a cute Gremlin chick would be hotter, so you could say my heart is already sold out. Hehehe~

Divine Veil + Armor of the Fallen would probably be a good combo for you. 1x normal, 1x elemental, 2x Shadow, 2x Fire Max!, and the damage bonus of the Divine Veil negates the damage reduction of the Armor of the Fallen.
I go with slightly less shadow and fire protection with Crown of the Fallen and Skolver Coat. I get 2x normal, 1x pierce, 1x shadow, 1x Fire Max! and the damage bonus negates the damage reduction for swords (my primary weapon against fiends). Once I craft my Snarbolax Armor (UV Fire High) I'll be in much better shape for fire fiends.
No hotkey for the Gate Map.
